Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Some incredible results last night...Liverpool, Sporting, AC Milan, Celtic, Zagreb, Trump
Perhaps all our games should be played from the 2nd half Jokes aside, a brilliant 2nd half destroyed Leverkusen. Think we even ended it’s 33 game unbeaten streak away from home. So happy for Lucho with a no-look goal for his hat-trick. Classic Bobby Firmino Now if we win against Real (even if the result is largely symbolic at this stage) and City then it'll be difficult to control the hype. However, we desperately need Jan signings though. This team is still hugely reliant on 3 or 4 players. |

The remaining 8 sides will come from teams that finish 9th to 24th position in the league after the first 8 games. Teams 9th to 16th will play a 2 legged knock out match against another team that finished between 17th to 24th. We should try to avoid the extra 2 CL games to get more rest. Hopefully Villa, Arsenal and Man City need to play these 2 extra games. During this extra 2 games period, the FA cup competition should have started. FA cup matches in England tend to be played on weekends. Will be a scheduling nightmare

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
So last time CL games are 8 groups of 4 teams, after 3 away and 3 home games, the top 2 teams qualify. The round of 16 teams emerge after 6 CL games.
Now need to play 8 games (2 extra games) for the top 8 teams (in round of 16) to emerge. The remaining 8 teams (in round of 16) will be decided after 2 knock out games. So these 8 teams play an extra 4 (2+2) games (as compared to previous years). Plus all the extra Nations League games mandated by FIFA, injury lists will pile up in 2nd half of next season. Our thin squad will probably need to call on players from the academy.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Great weekend. Did MC lost 4 consecutive games? I know they lost in the Carabao Cup to Spurs, lost in the CL and now lost to Brighton in the EPL. Which 4th game did they lose? Pep Guardiola doesn't have time to work on his leaky defence now that his players need to travel for international games.
I think the commentator was referring to Villa which has now lost 4 consecutive games. 2 EPL, 1 Carabao Cup and 1 CL. We are up against Southampton in the Carabao Cup quarter finals.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Thanks. I forgot about this match. I think Man City was on a long unbeaten run. When it was ended by Bournemouth, they experienced a dip in form. I think we lost motivation too for a few matches when our 44 match unbeaten run was ended.
Wah, I think if Nunez didn't score, the Aston Villa defender will be sent off for dragging Salah back.

Lean, mean, winning Slot machine
Solid if not spectacular performance last night. Felt nervy at times. Ibou motm, excellent again. What a pass by Virgil for that first goal. Mo doing Mo things, Grav brilliant, Kelleher with two superb saves and Darwin doing Darwin things. Delighted with the win, another solid 3 pts, and delighted beyond belief at the position we find ourselves in now. Klopp did say he would build another squad to challenge for the title and I think what he left us is now doing that. Arne football is not as exciting but the results keep coming in and I hope we are still up there come end of the season |
