Since you have a lot of time, try to go walking around the area of HK. Sample all places, even more than once, even every day after your office time and before your dinner. Some are very low-level, but if you don't mind the luxury of rooms simple girls are the best for me. There are true gems hidden there, but you need to sample several times before finding. The bad side is that they will just show you a book with photos, all looking the same and truly pointless.

1.5 for one shot in the hotel is a bule price. It should be less than 1M for regular girl, 1M for a good one you first meet in a pub then invite to your room, 1.5 in very special cases.

Awesome advice, thanks man 🙌 Given that I’m here for some time, would be keen to find a really decent regular and have the comfort of being able to relax properly at the hotel, with maybe the occasional evening out. Absolutely no interest in establishing a proper relationship, I want zero drama in my life 🤣

I worked for a few months in Vietnam a few years back and managed to bag a hot teacher for a ‘Friends with benefits’ arrangement for the duration of my stay (I would treat her with the occasional gift and meals out which no doubt kept her interested) This would be like my dream scenario is Batam also, but appreciate this is probably a unicorn scenario haha 😄

Took the easy option last night and Tried Ocopuss, double platinum package and chose MEY(P20), same girl @fatguy gave good feedback not long ago. Can clearly see the different in quality of service and organisation vs Hallo kitty, place was really clean and well kept and the whole operation was well planned and organised.

What really hit home is how useless the pictures of the girls are at these places. I saw the list of girl pictures before I went, and take P20 for example, she was looked like one of the worst by picture, but was arguably the hottest in the real life. Clearly no decision should ever be made by picture alone!

Maybe more of a personal preference and be obvious to most, but not having a language barrier makes a huge difference. Conversing clearly makes better chemistry and = better experience. Not conversing made it the experience feel really transactional and I didn’t quite enjoy it as much. Only park of my Octopuss visit I didnt enjoy as much, but as you rightly point out @blackpage it’s part of the learning experience

You have all the time to settle and find out quickly that your activities on the first days were the least interesting ones!
I understand you are a western guy.
1) Try to learn some bahasa (search my past post with a reference to an excellent small book to learn the basics).
2) Explore off path massage places. HK and Octopus are no hassle, but also no thrill for unexpected (failures and treasures).
3) I do not recommend you the booking option. I did it a couple of times, but what to do with this girl in the room after the first bonk? Language barrier and lack of mutual interest make it a very boring experience.
4) Strictly avoid the online apps until you are very experienced and armored. You will be cheated 99% probability.
5) Explore night life! The best for a Western guy. Start with beers and billiard in kampung bule (the worst option, but nice to kill time on your lonely evenings after dinner), then move to more expensive clubs with live music on the weekends (F1, Square, Dragon, Harbour Bay...). You might meet the girl of your life. Beware that taking a working girl to your hotel from there will cost you 2, 3, 4 times than in Hallo Kitty. A non working girl will expect some gift from you the morning after anyway. Be generous (minimum 1M for an office lady) but do not give her the impression you are paying a working lady, unless she really is, occasionally or not.
6) Avoid disco (Pacific, Newton, H3), at least until the times you will be expert and master of the local environment. I always go there, as you may have read in my past posts, but I have been going to Batam for 15 years already.
7) Use ojek to move around, or Grab for cars.
8) Never overplan. Follow the wind.

I am half European and half Indonesian, speak basic Bahasa but only enough to get by, not enough to have a fluent conversation. I can speak enough to make jokes and understand the idea of a conversation most of the time. I’m really wanting to take this business trip as an opportunity to increase my proficiency, all of my colleagues are also helping me learn. I got the book also

You know any good places near Radisson? I haven’t explored much of my immediate area. I have been using the apps passively, haven’t really been investing too much time to rely on it solely. It was obvious to me early on that it is mostly full of kotoran anjing haha. With the exception of the one girl I mentioned before, she is always active posting pictures on her WeChat in coffee shops etc, obviously filtered, but on video chat she was equallly as beautiful. Still obviously aware I’m open to the ‘bait and switch’ issue, which is why I was thinking to meet her for drinks first, see how the chemistry is before inviting back to hotel. Either way I have plenty of time to test the water here.

Out of interest, what are the ‘money no object’ options in Batam? Any places for access to very high caliber, low mileage girls? In have seen agencies like this in other countries, couldn’t see a definitive answer on here.

I’d like to spend more time out in clubs, just not a fan of turning up by myself, perhaps would like to meet some friends here first.
