You are different kind of animal... that is because you can already speak Vietnamese!

The other reasons is that for some very cheapo hotels, the door locks are not so good and other people can break into room to take stuffs.

For brudders whom cannot speak Viet and not been to Vietnam before and not escorted by anyone who can speak Viet better stay in something a little better, where the receptionist can speak some English as well. When they are seasoned in Viet already just like you, they dun even need to book hotel anymore... can stay in gf house!

My fren went there with namecard of the hotel without me around. They cant speak vietnamese well, only YEU, LAMTINH, SAO, etc....

If you feel confident, you can try staying at a Nha Nghi (guesthouse). I always tar-pow back to guesthouse because the hotels I stay are never girl-friendly.
