The unthinkable has finally happened to me. I lost around S$900+ last night. Damn sway. Luckily the motherfucker did not steal my passport! KNN. In ZH there are many small kids who are pickpockets. They work with an adult.

Made a police report also no use as there's no ID of any suspects. It just happens in a flash.

ZH is really a fucked up place now. With my misfortune and early closure of entertainment places. LHL FLs are also hiding here and there from police.

In PRC, I am more afraid of small kids than adults! Everywhere, country-wide, they use small kids to steal / pickpockets. U cant really beat them when u catch them, they probably even accuse u back! But I'd seen locals beating up small kids with weapons like planks, base-ball bats, etc. Even the adult "owners" come, oso whack. Wanna play, make it big all the way!

For me, I always put everything in my front pockets, anywhere in the world. It's even not easy for me to take out my mobile phones / wallet, not to mention anyone else trying to do it w/o my attention.

Making a police report on theft / pickpocket is useful only for record purpose, ie, the bank cards, passport / identification documents. Unless u know the gangs that operate, and that oso provided the thief belongs to 1 of those gangs and not those random / gangless thiefs.

ZH's "market" has been spoilt for some time. When I was 1st in ZH, the quality & service of the MMs are real good & cheap! Imagine, ST 200 RMB, overnite can get for 350 RMB. Last time I was there was early last year, the MMs even ask for tips? That's ridiculous, tipping WLs is not PRC's practice. The MMs even tried to bargain wif me, agree to give her how much tips, she'll agree to provide better service / or this or that. I told her straight in the face, she can say all these, but even if I agree or give, I dont feel the guarantee that the service will be satisfactory! And I sent her off w/o paying, of course didnt do anything. Similarly, several other parts of PRC's market is oso getting spoilt.

Many signs, ie, dressing style, language, cigarette, mobile phone language, etc.

This is one thing which i hate. Its due to people giving more cos they think its cheap, and thus causing the standards to change. So i hereby thank those people who caused this inflation, you've made alot of people spent more money then required.

Only that sweet bar assistant stayed beside him n advise him to "just give up the mobile phone" to avoid trouble.

After they left, the bar assistant told him.....this is one of the many common trick these MMs n their gang use to con foreigners.

In PRC, especially when cheonging, it's not the practice to pay upfront 1st. The customer usually pays after the end of the session. I'd only encountered once or twice, the MM asked if I could pay 1st. 1 of them even said she or someone owed pple money, she need to deliver the money to prevent someone creating trouble or her someone kena beaten up. She can even call her friend to come collect the money, while we continue with our session.

My answer is only: it's not the practice. What if I pay 1st, then something crops up & we can't finish our session? Either we proceed with the session & I pay at the end of it, or she's free to go, I can get another girl.

Strange thing is, around the bars, there's usually quite some security guards & police. With the commotion there, it should attract the attention of the security guards / police. For me, I'd remain firm, and most importantly, remain on the main (LHL) street & create the commotion. Tell them I'd call the police to report the prositution case, if the police says I should return the mobile phone, then I'll return.

Those guys have the brains, prostitution is illegal in PRC. As a foreigner, u'll usually be given the benefit of doubt, wont get into too much trouble especially if u are on social visit visa. U can feign ignorance about prostitution is illegal. But the locals will get into bigger trouble. The girl isn't like to appear to verify / prove anything, but the fact that their friend's mobile phone is in your pocket and they know the nr to dial proves to the cops they're related / it's a scam.

The other trick is, when handling mobile phones not belonging to someone u know, always switch it off & remove the SIM card. U can even say u just bought it (2nd hand) from another town / city before u arrived.

Not only spend more, but getting lousier services.

I dont wish to behave like many (especially locals) people, when they're unsatisfied with the service, they really dont pay a single cent! Create a commotion, by all means they'll go ahead. Then, there's quite some chance the girl may oso kena beaten up by the OKT. But if I'm really pissed off, ie, had a bad day / very foul mood, I'll do that too.

Recently, in Bangkok, while in a traditional massage centre, patronised by many expats / businessmen form Taiwan, Japan, Korea, PRC, etc, and local Thais, ie, a rather respectable & nice outlet yet cheap charges, I came across a bunch of young (early 20s), arrogant SGPeans. In this outlet, whenever the other patrons talk, they speak in low volume / whisper, not to disturb the quiet / peaceful / tranquil environment. This bunch of punks were talking & laughing loudly, then spoke about SGP no1 this, no1 that, Thailand not as clean / beautiful, etc etc. And then imitating street gang disputes, spouting hokkien expletives & those arrogant "idioms". Come end of the massage session, usually some tips is given (a common practice in Thailand). Then I can hear them, even when I'm in a different room, that 20 THB is enough, dont need to give anything more.

This type of behavior / phenomenon definitely makes these people stand out like sore thumb, never mind the disgrace.

Of course, I'm not saying anyone here behave like this. But often, many SGPeans behave / attract more than necessary attention w/o even knowing / realising.

Anyway, what you said is probably right. Sometimes, Sillypore men just TOO NICE liao. We are forced fed to treat the 'weaker' sex with respect in our pee-sai land. As such, those PRC FLs used this as a 'weapon' against us. They know we won't make a scene, unlike their local men.
Good service = Pay extra. Lousy service = Also have to pay full fare.

Well, I guess we have to learn to 'grow up' at certain points in our lifetime.

hee hee, cos I quit my last job, ie. not working now, and guai-guai staying at home today, accompany my gf. Been travelling quite abit even though I not working, flying to another country 2molo. I should be active for another 1 week, before starting on the next project, a very travel-intensive 1. Gotta travel more than 10 countries in 3 months, across Europe + AsiaPac. Knn, siong, another round of travelling half the globe.

Keeping a low profile is important, especially in foreign land. But sometimes too low also no good. I was alone when I stepped into LHL on my second trip. I was fully expecting the MMs to crowd around me, but.............nothing happened. In fact throughout the entire trip, not a single street chicks approached me.

At least in that case, u dont stick out like a sore thumb & attract attention from those thiefs. If u are looking for MMs there, just sit at those bar counters there, relax, have a drink & "look-see" at your pleasure. When u get into some eye-contact with some of them, they may approach u. Or, if u fancy anyone, just go up & approach lor, simple as that.

Any other conversation with the gal depends on how u talk. Whenever my SGP frens asked me for advice when they need to travel to PRC, I always remind them dont tell anyone, especially the MMs, that they're from SGP. That may probably invite some unwanted "surprises" or "events". SGPeans have a rather "high-profile" in Asia, ie, rich (strong currency), yet ignorant (not street-smart), proud & arrogant.
