The amount is not set in stone and can vary at different stages of your life after the divorce. If you can..... settle the ex-wife's maintenance in one lump sum payment...... otherwise you will be paying her monthly maintenance for her entire lifetime or until she remarry. As for your children is until they reach 21.

Bro I thought kids as long as still studying must pay for their maintenance ie if my daughter in Uni etc.

Another thing that concern me is in the event of my passing, can my ex touch my cpf even though i have already made nomination for obvious reason she won't be entitled? Or for that matter my insurance etc.

The money in your CPF is not subjected to the jurisdiction of the Courts. There is another set of laws to govern their distribution upon your demise and sad to inform you...... your ex-spouse and children are entitled to it..... even if you have made 101 new nominations since your divorce.

You have to maintain your children up to the age of 21 or until they obtain their 1st basic degree if they are over 21. There is no need to maintain them after that 1st degree if they want to go for further studies for their Masters or PHDs. Of course if you want to do it willingly as their parent..... you can.

seems like regular sex with a loved one may well turn out to be more expensive than 5 star hookers for twenty years...if the guy happened to be a rich guy..

Bro don't mind guiding me to this portion of the law.....I don't mind leaving my money to my kid from previous marriage but to leave it to my ex is another matter....would like to find out if that the case what the normal percentage they are entitled to...

??? Are you sure? I recall during my divorce proceedings I went down to the CPF office to change my nomination from my ex-spouse to my siblings and was told by the CPF officer no point in doing so. They can allow me to change my nomination but ultimately they still have to follow the courts directions as to how my CPF funds is to be distributed according to the divorce rulings. So the nomination change which I made is just a pointless paper exercise.

Bro I think your case is more on the "Cock" ruling on the divorce settlement..in my case the "Cock" made me transfer nearly 50% of my CPF put into our housing to her...that amounted to about $50K...but my concern now is, in the event if I pass on, as the court did not made any ruling regarding about whether she is entitled to any percentage of my CPF Savings...Bro War Pig is saying that there is a set of provision for our ex to actually also get a portion of our CPF...I would like to know how and where I can check how much the ex is entitled...honestly if the percentage is alot then I might as well dump my money into my housing and pay off the loan rather then leave a big sum of cash for her to lay her hands on...

Just like to check if I can file for a divorce to my wife on the grounds of her refusing sex??

She has agreed to a divorce n I don't want to wait 3 years for the separation n wants to get it done ASAP. The truth is she is seeing another man.

It will be a uncontested divorce.

Re: All you need to know about "Marriage/Divorce" under the SG Law

Hi, I am a guy going into a divorce. I need help to recommend a lawyer.

My wife is seeing another man. And we have both agreed to divorce n I don't want to wait 3 years for separation. Can I file for a divorce on the ground of her not having sex with me.

She has also agreed to giving the custody of our 3 kids to me. It's uncontested as she wants to leave for the man now.

Thanks so much.

Pardon my curiosity.... your wife does not have sex with you but on the other hand there are 3 kids from your marriage...... those kids fathered by the other man?

Get her to file for divorce. Any unreasonable behaviour will do.

Dun have to wait 3 years. You can file for divorce on grounds of adultery or unreasonable behavior. It is important that you are the one filing for divorce first and not her as it will affect the ancillary part later on. She may be fucking another guy but she can still claim maintenance against you and your assets if she wants to...... that's the beauty of the Women's Charter.
