Re: Philippines, Olongapo City
How to Get to Olongapo & Subic Bay Philippines
Subic is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours from Dau n about 3 - 3.5 hrs from Manila... (depends on traffic from Manila upto Dau). Its located about 80 kilometers (50 miles) from Manila and only 60 kilometers (about 38 miles) from Subic. If ud ask me, id recommend a private car... Does not cost much. There are various ways of getting here. It depends on ur budget n the place where u wan to begin ur journey from. Private Car/Taxi By private car, the trip from Manila is less than 3 hours. Take the North Luzon Expressway thru to the Dau exit. Then follow the signs to the SCTEx and Subic. Travel along the SCTEx to Subic Freeport and then follow the signs to Olongapo and Iba. From here you gotta decide if you wan to stay on in Olongapo, visit SBFZ, Barretto, which is about a 10 minute drive past Olongapo or drive a lil bit further up and turn left into Baloy Long Beach Road. By Bus ex Manila Daily bus service is provided from the Manila area by two Bus lines. By Victory Liner bus, the trip from Manila to Subic is abt 4 hours. Victory Liner: Frequent at least hourly service from 4am to 6pm from Pasay city, Kalookan, Sampaloc, and Cubao. Non express service is also available at other times. Their Olongapo terminal located at the APO monument. Buses run from the Pasay Terminal to Olongapo every 30 minutes. Once you get to Olongapo, the Baloy Beach is about 20 minutes by trike or Jeepney. Buses from Pasay Terminal run from 5:00am till 6:00pm. There are also frequent bus services from Kalookan, Sampaloc and Cubao. Dun fOrget to look for Select busses express tht ply via the SCTEX Saulog transit: hourly service from 2am to 2pm. departing from Cavite city. Olongapo Terminal is behind the city mall at the main gate SBF. Subic Bay International Airport (SBIA) – Subic Bay Freeport. Limited charter services are available to reach here from Manila. From time to time various low cost carriers evince interest to land here. But nothing concrete at d moment. From Manila and points South Depending on traffic conditions the drive from Manila will take about two to three hours to get to the SBF area. Take the Northern Expressway to the SCTex exit a few kilometers past the Angeles toll booth. Take the SCTex in the direction of Subic. the SCTex merges with the Tipo expressway and further into the Subic Bay Freeport zone. The SCtex is a very fast and scenic trip to Subic Bay. Those who may not wish to use the SCTex can still use the old route. Exit the NLEX at the City of San Fernando exit. Follow the signs in direction of Olongapo. Depending on your final destination take the Tipo-Subic expressway to go to SBF, Barrio Barretto and points north. Continue on the National highway for points before Olongapo City proper. note this route is prone to heavy traffic and also major delays when there are heavy rains. From Ida: Take the National highway south to Olongapo. From Angeles city and points North:The SCTex has three entrances around the Clark and Angeles City area. Take in the direction of Subic about 35 minutes to the end of the expressway on the Subic Bay Freeport. The Dummy way To get to Olongapo City / Subic Bay, Fly The Bus from the Swagman Hotel Manila or direct from Angeles City / Clark. Fly The Bus Angeles City - Olongapo City / Subic Bay 9:00 am to 10:00 am Monday - Wednesday - Friday - Sunday To Any Hotel in Subic Bay Fly The Bus Olongapo City / Subic Bay - Angeles City 12:30 pm Monday - Wednesday - Friday - Sunday To Swagman Travel Angeles Bus ex Dau Il do an edit to this in another post at a later time. Tired compiling this for now |

Re: Philippines, Olongapo City
kept postponing posting .. The Lord and others - if you are keen to 'explore' diving, dive shops have "FUN DIVE" about 35 US$ or so ..
You get a dive master with you .. but, make sure you are not left alone .. One too many time, the diver master try to jaga 4 people and then one person in distress, he cannot manage .. One-for-one, atleast the nearly pure oxygen is good as getting it up on Vitamin V Trust me ..

Its all about business. The supply and demand for the flight service, the competition and alternatives for the consumer and the cost of providing the service( direct and indirect cost ).

Re: Philippines, Olongapo City
I am planning to go to Subic in mid-June.
Can I confirm the following ? 1.Gogo bars in Subic are in 3 different areas : a) Calapandayan b) Baleyo beach c) Barreto 2.Among the 3 places above the prices in Barreto for our drinks, ladies drinks, bar fines are the lowest. 3.The number of bars in Barreto is the most. Based on this info, I plan to stay at Barreto. Any recommendation of a hotel smack in the middle of the action e.g. Kokomos in Angeles ? The number of bars is more in Angeles or in Olongapo City ? How safe is Barreto area ? Advisable to walk back after partying past midnight ? Are the roads brightly lit at night? Prefer to stay right near the bars so as to avoid excessive walking alone after the bar hops. How much will it cost to take a taxi/mini van from NAIA straight to Subic? Thanks for the info.
