Re: Philippines, Olongapo City
Interesting note.....no slipperz/casual attire within the Base. So if ur taking the Yellow jeepney make sure you hv shoes/polo T atleast n pants
Travelling in Barrio Barretto and Olongapo Tricycles and public utility jeepneys are used to provide public transportation within Olongapo. Jeepeneys are colour-coded, based on the routes they ply. There are three that are useful: blue, yellow and red. The blue jeepney (Subic to Olongapo City) goes to and from Olongapo City to Barretto. Some blue jeepneys go as far as Castillejos, another village after Subic. The terminal of the blue jeepney that takes you to Barretto is conveniently located on a side street (behind ChowKing), next to the Victory Liner bus station. The yellow jeepney (Sta Rita to Main Gate of SBMA) can take you to two of the gates of the Subic Freeport Naval Base from Olongapo City. (By the way, you cannot enter the Base in slippers or very casual attire). The red jeepney (Gordon Heights to Main Gate of SBMA) goes to another public market called Pag-Asa from Olongapo City. Some acronyms... SBFZ SUBIC BAY FREEPORT ZONE SBMA SUBIC BAY METROPOLITAN AUTHORITY |

As far as I know only the poker rooms were closed. All the other joints were still operating as normal.

Re: Philippines, Olongapo City
My contacts tell me the IJM is making their presence known. They have been collating and building up the database culled from their overseas offices for the DOJ to use..... so bros who have the habit of frequently travelling overseas with Pinays may one day find yourself on the watchlist.

Re: Philippines, Olongapo City
Most foreigners come to Subic via DMIA (Clark) or NAIA (Manila).
There is another airport in Olongapo itself but unfortunately for us no commercial airline has flights into that airport currently. It is mostly used by DHL, Phil-Ex and some private planes. I understand that DHL and Phil-Ex do carry passengers on their flights. |

Not I master in DIA. It's because mostly DIA in AC are looking for extra income making my effort easy. I had miserable result in Cebu maybe also because of short stay (3 days)there. Many dont reply your text promptly causing lots of waste time. And the distance travel in Cebu to meet is much farther. So better take DIA as side dish if duration is short. |

Re: Philippines, Olongapo City
R u referring to Subic Bay International airport?
Fed-Ex has moved its Asia-Pacific hub to Guangzhou in China. Thereupon SBMA has submitted a proposal for The closure of SBIA to convert The area to a logistics hub. Another reason is plans are already in place for expansion of DMIA. However it still remains an airport. Its a reasonably modern airport n can handle wide bodied aircraft For the moment, Guam-based Aviation Concepts has set up fixed-based operations as a full service business jet center at Subic Bay International Airport, which has made it Asia’s largest private aviation firm in terms of hangar space (100,000 square feet). The company has over 161,000 sq ft (15,000 sq m) of hangar and office space at Subic Bay, with plenty of scope to expand its existing handling and line maintenance service Continued overcrowding and access problems at key Asia Pacific airports such as Hong Kong International mean that Subic Bay in the Philippines is well placed to serve as a business aviation hub for the region.... Gives a new lease of life to SBIA? Quote:

DIA in Cebu or other places is like fishing in the competition pond. You need skill and luck. The fight to pull the fish in and the thrill is memorable. You also will never know what type of fish you pull in. A grouper or a catfish?? Anyway there is always the fish market that you can resort to and buy a fish after a failed try in the competition pool. datou will know where the best fish market is in Cebu. I am also a regular customer there.
