To really understand them we need to dig Sigmund Freud out of his grave and ask him to explain this behaviour. :-)
Talking about pride in this profession, PRCs are different from their M'sian counterparts. Msian WL always want to stay low profile and will not go hung-kai with clients, whereas the PRC will ask their clients to go Orchard Road shopping, 5 star restaurants etc. If we expect them to have "shame" feelings, we are dead wrong. I guess this is because polygamy has existed for 3000 years in China, and so they are very open minded, much more than us.
