Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Good result
Diaz on fire, 5 league games and five goals and one assist. Good numbers so far. Well played Darwin and fantastic goal I've been a huge Nunez critic since we signed him but I've genuinely never wanted to be so wrong about a Liverpool player before. Really hope he makes me eat my words Kelleher also had a great game last night. He is nicely giving it a go for Alisson. Gravenberch is a joy to watch, so too MacAllister and thought Chiesa looked lively when he came on Few negatives We weren't good at the start once again, need to get this bit sorted Mo was actually quite annoying last night, once we'd got in front it was all about him just wanting to get on the scoresheet and that's not a good look Dom was quite poor on the ball and with his touch Anyways all in still good, 4W 1L , 10 GF 1 GA We go again |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
For the first goal, their fightback was backpeddling and trying to close down the angle. I was wishing he had used his hand to stop the ball.
It would have been a red card offence plus penalty. Thankfully we don't need this outcome.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
5-1 against West Ham Carabao EFL Cup
Only saw the highlights and read the reviews Seems like overall a good win and good run out for the other half of our 1st team plus good rest for most of our first 11 Gakpo was superb, his best position is at LW Jota back to scoring ways and can jump high for a shortie Chiesa had a good first start, now just needs a goal to boost his confidence Mo was good old Mo (would have liked him to take a full rest though), Curtis was really good and Endo solid, needs more game time though Unfortunately Nunez could not get a goal to boost his confidence So glad we still have Kelleher as our back up GK because he would probably make most other PL teams' first 11, yes he is that good Finally so happy Joe Gomez was given the captain's armband for this match |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
That was excruciating to watch. I guess it's a slight "positive" that we basically played just as poorly against Forest but got a result this time out.
I don't know where most of the player's heads were last night but it couldn't have been on the pitch. Inexplicable how so many SIMPLE things were done wrong. Gravenberch was my MOTM, Jota put in a shift, VVD was solid, every other starter was a "5" or less. Actually, Dom and Mo were abysmal. Dom is making Jones look like Zidane. Love Mo to bits but I can't stand how he is immune to being substituted. Still all I care about is those 3 points. Oct going to be very interesting as we finally face some real opposition in Chelsea at home and Arsenal away. We should then know which direction we are heading after those matches. Finally hope Robbo's ok |

More tough games to come and I am skeptical. I will wait till next year and if we are still top then I will be fully surprised.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
My current take..
What we have seen is the team is still capable of creating and scoring goals and putting in a shift The build up play has slowed down and we dont go on the chase scoring more goals by risky play However, it is also fair to say that in the games we have played we have been exposed in certain situations and had we been playing top teams we may have dropped points - our manager has spotted that and has articulated this in all his press conferences. As a new manager coming in to replace a legend is never easy but Arne has showed signs that he has what it takes to be a top manager managing a top club. The question is like for all managers, how do you deal with adversity and how will players re-act to him. Think the club have made a great decision with Slot, however i also think the club have taken quite a risk in not bulking up the squad with more quality . Hopefully the first decision can outweigh the latter decision. Oh yeah on another note, really wonder why Pep & City allowed Cole Palmer to leave and at £40m as well, seems on the low side now, a clear bargain for Chelsea. Must say Chelsea now look to be getting its act together, definitely one club to take seriously now. |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Quote:
Means when Man City sells him, it's an immediate $40m profit in their accounts (he was a Man City academy graduate so considered $0 cost to the club.) Plus $40M into this financial year. Very useful for Financial Fair Play. Same reason why Man U sold academy graduates Mason Greenwood and Scott McTominay. For Chelsea, the $40m cost is spread over the length of his contract. So if a 5 year contract is given, this $40m transfer will appear as a $8m cost over 5 financial years. The actual term if you wish to google is (Profit and Sustainability Rules -PSR) https://www.sportingnews.com/us/socc...043e191482250d
