Pls try not to rebook budget airline tickets cos its expensive. Also 1 day is not much of a difference. Life is long, live happily and carefully, stretch your dollar. I am staying in a good newly renovated resort that I would recommend to anyone coming Calbayog, Samar. The Marju Krisel Hotel. Good service and facilities for the simple traveller. 3 start hotel at a budget inn price. 900p/night. A/C. Big pool with slides and great staff.Just outside Calbayog town by the water. I am on mission trips to the Philippines now for the past year and have been doing community work in conjunction with organisations and on a personal basis.Thats why you see me travelling the poorest parts of Philippines. Will be in Subic next Tuesday and then to AC to catch up with you. |

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
ZIEBART,
I'm thinking of staying at Bangkok Hotel next year. Any comment on this hotel, I wanted to see the rooms but they told me all the rooms are booked. Next year, I don't want to stay in Royal Amsterdam cause the water pressure in the shower is very weak and musty smell in the restroom! I'm still searching for a nice hotel to stay!

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
Wholesom Fields Avenue After Raids
Posted on September 30, 2010 by AngelesCity ANGELES CITY – From a place of honky-tonky entertainment district to a wholesome leisure and recreational area is what the City government plans for Fields Avenue and adjacent environment. Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan is pushing for the transformation of the entertainment industry as soon as possible obviously to erase the “sin city” perception of the people from outside of Angeles City. “In light of the close scrutiny on the entertainment strip, it becomes more necessary to concretize the transformation of Fields Avenue into a wholesome district filled with bars and restaurants,” stated in a press release issued by the City Information Office (CIO). Entertainment area, exclusively for adult, will remain but it would be in a controlled area, the statement furthered. Pamintuan toyed with the idea during an emergency meeting with owners of major establishments at the entertainment district shortly after his arrival from an official trip to the United States. Pamintuan said Fields Avenue being a wholesome entertainment area, would boost the tourism industry of the city. He said this is part of the city government’s plan to support the business sector especially the entertainment industry here. The entertainment district contributes 40 percent to the city coffers in terms of tax, securing of permits and other fees, it was gathered. Once realized, Fields Avenue would be free from close scrutiny of different government law enforcement agencies. Last week alone, three beer joints were padlocked by authorities for violation of the city ordinances. The raiding team composed of agents from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and 3rd Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit rescued several underage girls employed in three beerhouses mostly catering to foreign guests. At present, the entertainment district here is home to more than 300 establishments including hotels, restaurants and beer houses, and thousands of employees are directly benefiting in this industry. Meanwhile, Pamintuan suggested to organize a multi-sectoral task force which will lead in the campaign against human trafficking and similar offenses. Another suggestion is to raise the level of awareness about sexually transmitted diseases among bar workers and set a minimum age requirement for women working in beer houses to 21 year old and establish a program that would provide alternative livelihood for displaced bar girls.” |

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
Honestly i am a simpleton and a plain joe at that.
now you gotta tell me how do i hook up with you on the 9th. I like your advice on "Stretch your dollar". I am a firm advocate of that policy. For those who wanna regard me as a cheapo i am perfectly fine with that, for those who fake that they spend a lot but hardly spend i got nothing to say and for those who really wanna splurge please go ahead and splurge. Someone has to contribute to the economy. Isnt it? Na bro i think you are fine. you are not anti social. You are not worse of bro. You are doing so many mission trips. I think you must be more at peace than anyone of us around here on this website. I have a suncell simcard with me but i have no idea whats my number.. Ha ha... Wierd right? I did not activate roaming when i left. little did i expect that i would be making another trip to AC this fast this year... The saying goes never say never.. BTW what are you doing in subic? Pubs and casinos there too? How do you get to Subic from AC? Is Subic the same price or more expensive than AC? Quote:
