U can book a car or van from hatyai to danok, at ur own time.
I'm back from Dannok. Quite cocked up a lot of things for me. I forgot to bring my phone when I left SG. So I can call no one, and no one can call me and I also have no time to tell and no alarm to wake. Couldn't arrange to meet any bros here also. Sigh... Anyway, just reached home and rather tired. Cleared NSHW in 6.5hrs. Super tired. This is when I need a good rub down and Thailand is so far away...
Dannok is quite a happening little place. Karaoke (farm) along like easily 8 streets. Cheong joints clustered at close proximity. A good number of hotels as well. I will update my research map and also link it to the great info posted when I'm more able.
Long story short, I scouted a few hotels with good parking facilities. Hi Class, Grand View, and Satit. If you are concerned about parking, these are the 3 hotels where you can hide your car from view. Satit's carpark although is sheltered in the building, but is dark and gloomy. He Jia and KPK have decent lots but is open air and can be seen from the open streets.
Didn't do much while I was there. Day 1 reached in the mid-afternoon, showered, walked around a bit, lunched (pork trotter rice is good! Just behind Satit use the Mutiara staircase to the coffeeshop) and went Satit for massage. Got this rather SYT who is quite playful during conversation although massage skills is not really good. Not too bad if to pass time, at least with someone to entertain. Told her I would be asking for her again the next day but didn't (see below).
After massage walked around somemore to familiarise with the area and went into Fortune. Feel kinda like Joo Chiat style LSB? So I left not long after for snack and to Club Model. Interesting that the most entertaining bit for me is the group of B-boys breakin'. Thought that the quality @ Bangkok is better? The attitute of the coyote wasn't too good for me and I thought the waitresses are better in that sense? And I actually preferred the OL looking (manageress?) black-suited lady with the flowers garlands...
So left Model feeling disappointed that it wasn't as fun as I had expected. Quite croweded with customers and not many coyotes. Just when I went into my hotel lobby heard someone called out at me. It was the ML and she had been waiting there for the past 1hr! Didn't know she wanted to come back and look for me. Hmm...
Anyway, 1230 liao and both tired so slept. Didn't sleep well as got interrupted several times due to elsewhere slamming door and such. And I need to wake early to come back SG. Nothing happened in the night. Thought she might take my money and run away (paraniod?) or try to tease me in my sleep to up her. Nothing happened. Anyway I only had like 1-2hrs of distributed sleep. Then too late to sleep in time to wake and feeling cold under the blanket so I started reaching for her. After a while ended up in a little bit of action. She wanted to do it in raw already so I willed myself to soften (kiasi and no protection around). After like 2 times she gave up and back to sleep before I showered and packed up to leave.
So that's the end of the long short story. Vegetarian as originally intended. Just a relaxing recce trip. If not for the long distance I will probably already decide to return next month or something.

Dannok is quite a happening little place. Karaoke (farm) along like easily 8 streets. Cheong joints clustered at close proximity. A good number of hotels as well. I will update my research map and also link it to the great info posted when I'm more able.

If you are concerned about parking, these are the 3 hotels where you can hide your car from view. Satit's carpark although is sheltered in the building, but is dark and gloomy. He Jia and KPK have decent lots but is open air and can be seen from the open streets.
Didn't do much while I was there. Day 1 reached in the mid-afternoon, showered, walked around a bit, lunched (pork trotter rice is good! The attitute of the coyote wasn't too good for me and I thought the waitresses are better in that sense? And I actually preferred the OL looking (manageress?) black-suited lady with the flowers garlands...
So left Model feeling disappointed that it wasn't as fun as I had expected. Quite croweded with customers and not many coyotes. Just when I went into my hotel lobby heard someone called out at me. It was the ML and she had been waiting there for the past 1hr! Didn't know she wanted to come back and look for me. Hmm...
Anyway, 1230 liao and both tired so slept. Didn't sleep well as got interrupted several times due to elsewhere slamming door and such. And I need to wake early to come back SG. Nothing happened in the night. Thought she might take my money and run away (paraniod?) or try to tease me in my sleep to up her. Nothing happened. Anyway I only had like 1-2hrs of distributed sleep. So that's the end of the long short story. Vegetarian as originally intended. Just a relaxing recce trip. If not for the long distance I will probably already decide to return next month or something.

I am planning my first assault and am thinking to take coach from golden mile complex to Hatyai (13 hrs or more ride, cost S$50/trip) in next month.
Just wonder how is the Malaysia - Thai border customs operating? How far is from Hatyai to Dannok?
How much is the cost for overnight puying?

I want to come back early to rest and I left later than hoped so went on a bit of mad rush (140-160 with sporadic burst to 180-200 when some Merc trail me) until the last 100km where I slowed to 120-130.
I suggest to take the coach if you can withstand the long hrs on yr bums. It's much cheaper than petrol and wear and tear. I'm on 2 wheels which should be more economical but still, roundtrip petrol already about S$100 not considering wear and tear. Like what was shared by the shifus, take any SG-Hatyai coach and then drop off at Sadao border and let the driver know. You should be able to buy return coach from Dannok itself. I saw this "shop" (got adv saying selling tix) upstairs got this really jude lady. Think she just showered looking out of the balcony drying her hair. Me took 3 looks at her...
Thai border is closed from 0000-0600hrs (Thai time). Danok to Hatyai is best put at 80km for budgetting time and petrol (if applicable). Real terms is lesser than that (60-70) but also consider that you need to move around a bit in Hayai.
Now that I've been enlightened, that was a FL in HB. Quoted me RM$300. Forgot to mentioned that RM$ is universally accepted. RM$1 = 10baht. Pay in baht also can but sometimes (more than not) get back change in RM$. You can effectively not bring any baht if you are only hanging around Dannok.
