There are many methods of getting to know Uni girls. Dont need to go clubs. Music is so loud. You cant hear them and they cant hear you. They know you re farang and your motive is to pick them up for ONS. Best way is to recce at the universities. If your England is very powderful, pretend that you are English tutor giving free English tution at your place. Or pretend that you re a talent scout looking for race car girls to model in our coming F1 race. Or lagi good if you are in early to mid 20s, pretend that you re a exchange student and ask them be your tour guide. Haha, some thinking outside the box (even if tongue in cheek). 1st option, not to pour cold water but we lose out as thais biased towards native speakers (aka whites, even if their standard suck). How many whites turn to being lowly paid englsih teachers after their "extended" stay? I knew 1 swiss guy monlighting as english teacher, and doing visa run (few years back) to be with his u-grad gf (now wife). I mean swiss 1st language is not even english (either french or german)! I think I posted this a few pages back but nehmind I post again... to the best of my local knowledge the clubbing areas in Bangkok can be divided into 3 main areas. Thonglor-Ekkamai, RCA (Royal City Avenue) and Rachada Soi 4.

Thonglor-Ekkamai
Its reputation as a hi-so (high society) clubbing area is due to its location and the that movies stars, socialites, scions of the rich & powerful, hi-so wannabes+their hanger ons patronize these clubs.

The clubs there are mid size venues of capacity of about 500 people? The 3 most popular ones are at Soi 10 (for taxi: Thonglor Soi Sip) The biggest would have to be Funky Villa. Other popular clubs are within walking distance of each other are Muse, Demo and Nang Lern (supposedly opened by son of Sigha Beer boss).

Ekkamai would have The Curve and Jet + G-Clubs like Piano. All located along the main road between Sois 8 to the junction of New Petchburi Road. Personally I've never been to any clubs in Ekkamai except Santika (R.I.P) so can't comment.

Royal City Avenue (RCA)
Strip of clubs, small bars and restaurants in between Rama 9 and New Petchburi Road. Biggest and most popular would be Slim/Flix. This is actually 3 rooms divided into live Thai music, RnB & Hip Hop and House/Electro. 1st 2 rooms fill up pretty fast due to their popularity but place is packed end by night's end.

10 years ago RCA was the happening place with more than 10 clubs big and small. Now its a pale shadow of it's former glory and besides Slim/Flix there is also Route 66 and 808. If u like live rock (not Thai) then there is Overtone. The rest are made up of small restaurants + drinking pubs/bars. My fav has always been Slim/Flix and don't see the need to visit the other clubs there.

Rachada Soi 4
Along Rachada Road. Can't miss it if driving by at night. Also the easiest to access by MRT (Thailand Cultural Center station). The biggest 3 there would be Snopp, Zaleng and ??? (Shit! Forgotten the name!). All Thai live music + RnB/hip hop in between band breaks. Cross the road and behind The Esplanade shopping center would be Inch and Butter Butter. Snop has a very interesting mens room modeled after a Thai-Chinese goldsmith shop! Been to the first 3 mentioned and had a good time each time.

Best drinks option for all 3 areas is to buy a bottle of Johnny Red (no Sangsom or Hundred Pipers please) to get a table and show that u can at least afford the minimum. Its pretty cheap if you go with a couple of mates and split the bill. JW Red usually costs like BHT1,000 upwards without mixers + ice which are chargeable.

As Bro Annex mentioned. The sitting arrangements in a Thai clubs are mostly low tables + stools. I dunno about licensing rules but I think the Thais appreciate a good night night out with good food as well. I've been to a few clubs/bars around the world and no where can they beat the food at a Thai club or bar (big or small). In Singapore u r lucky if the kitchen is still open after 10pm or else u get fried this and that. Or else the bar will order ta-pao from the coffeeshop a few units away. In Thailand u get a almost a bloody full menu!

Girls and ONS. Depends on you. Have some self confidence and approach them. It is not a 100% hit but the successful ration is definitely higher than Singapore. ONS may not happen just yet. Thai girls are approachable and friendly but not (that) easy. Just remember not to hit on SYTs with their Thai BFs.

Uni students & SYTs? Well all places will have them its just what strata of Thai society they come from. Thonglor-Ekkamai is more "atas" (or hi-so) but the girls may not necessary be hi-so (kow jai mai?). Slim/Flix is a mixed bag but Rachada Soi 4... lets juz say if u ask a go-go girl on her night off where she want to club. Chances of she would ask u 2 bring her to a club in Soi 4.

If u like fishing for underage girls and uni SYTs another 2 places to try in Bangkok would be Khaosan Road and areas near Ramkhampheng Uni.

These days Khaosan is not all farang backpackers. There are a few small bars with live music & DJs off the main stretch of Khaosan where many Thai teens like to hang out. Another fav "dek neaw" hangout would be Club Culture about 15 minutes walk away from central Khaosan. Electro & indy tunes rule the day at this place.

I'm still working on what clubs there are at Ram Uni area. But being Thailand's largest uni it should have a strong youth culture + businesses to cater to the crowd there. So far only heard stories so if any bro can post an FR on the place would be much appreciated.

Over all clubbing in Thailand is a good experience and value for money. The only irritant is probably the valet in the mens room suddenly massaging your back whilst u r taking a leak!
