Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Oh dear, Reds literally became Swiss cheese last night

Don't understand how the team's form has deteriorated so rapidly since last season? Yes, Liverpool have lost Suarez, but I think this level of mediocrity is much more systemic than just the loss of Suarez.

Defence poor, especially set piece defending, nothing new, but totally no improvement, even with summer signings.

Gerrard cannot play DM period. He has to play AM even if it just for 45 mins to make an impact.

Markovic is still lost and Coutinho's form has plummeted. As for Balotelli he is lucky he did not implode and get red carded. Reds attack no pace and intensity like last season. Only player that showed promise last night was Lallana when he came on. Sterling, think he deserves a break.

What Gerrard said post match summed it up aptly, Liverpool were totally soft from defence to attack. Technically average and lacked pace and power. Defending set pieces was abominable and shockingly poor, especially after these flaws had been highlighted from August.

Truly think its panic button station time now, if not Liverpool's season may be over before Christmas!

Oh man, Liverpool really need a good result against the Baggies this weekend to stem the tide and get its season back on track. Come on you Reds!

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Too many new players, too many games, too short rest time.

EPL games started earlier than other european leagues, plus the international friendies plus the capitol league cup, its no wonder even young Sterling appeared jaded and off form.

Markovic still getting to grip on EPL games; Lallala just back from injuries; Stevie legs just cannot carry him consecutively for sooo many games; Mario does not have the same playing style (quick, tricky, pacey, run at defenders) as Suarez; Lovren still getting used to the constant changing of CB partners.

Effectively and collectively the whole team formation must change to adapt to the many (new) players and formulate a totally new style.

BR must know to individually assess each player in terms of their fitness and best position, else I do not believe in immediate positive results that soon.

Shopping wise it sucks.

Saw the first half it was really really bad display by Liverpool. They barely have possession not more than 20%. The Basel players have got more hunger and they seemed to know why to attack Liverpool's weakest points. Pity the Red's fans who went up to support the team. They had to endure a poor performance by the Reds.

It doesn't take genius to see that Liverpool is really struggling this season. Liverpool surely miss the SAS upfront. RS is still his best to help the team but you can't expect the young man to carry the entire weight of the team.

BR really need to solve that leaky defense. Now at least Liverpool knows where is the weakest point in their defense. Hope they can VV to come in ASAP. Liverpool should not have let PR go without a replacement for him.

As for the rest of the new players hope they really settle down fast for Liverpool. It is a good opportunity for them to prove their worth.

With so many new players in the team it will take time for the team to gel together. Sadly Liverpool is now behaving like Spurs.

I have lowered my expectations for the team. If Liverpool can qualify again for CL next season I'll be happy.

Jordan Rossiter and Suso join the injured team. Liverpool still monitoring on the fitness of Sturridge.

Sterling is dragging his new contract talks.

I think the problem is BR let go the most important man crucial to last season's success ..... not Luis Suarez but the guy whose role is even more crucial than LS.... Dr Steve Peters. It was mainly through his psychology sessions with the players that got them fired up and believing in themselves that boosted their performance levels.

I see the current team is playing without confidence and showing a sense of fear in contrast with the swashbuckling team of last year..... this shows the current negative mental state of the team and it is does not bode well for the current team. I say bring back Dr Steve Peters to heal the mental state of the team.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Liverpool needs a good Defensive Midfielder and I wish the team has the answer in Emre Can.

Various reports are floating around that Liverpool are close to sealing the deal for Karim Benzema at £38 million.

Jamie Carragher has been vocal this week. He spoke of Balotelli's poor performance and feels the striker is not putting in enough effort to represent Liverpool on the pitch. The former Liverpool defender singled out Raheem Sterling's agent and told him to shut up for attempting to engineer a move for the winger to Real Madrid.

Agents dun earn a single cent representing the player.... they earn money from getting a cut of the transfer fee so the more times a player changes club they more they can earn.

My feel is Benzema would turn out to be another Balotelli as his playing style does not suit Liverpool...... I would prefer to go for Higuain.

The doctor has done such a superb job for Liverpool so much that Hodgson has hijack him to work on the England team.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Insightful post bro!

Confidence level does seem pretty low at the moment and it starts with Gerrard downwards. Reds really need our support at the moment notwithstanding their current abysmal form.

Truly hope to see the tide turn in Liverpool's favour later tonight. Come on you redmen.

Agree that their confidence level is at a all time low. It doesn't help matters when certain players are not playing up to standard to inspire confidence to the rest of the team.

Liverpool needs a lot of things besides a DM. Liverpool need another GK, RW and a striker. BR needs to solve a lot of problems. I have always followed JC and I believe he speaks the truth on certain issues. He still have inside knowledge and plus when he is outside the team he sees things a much clearer picture. Sometimes truth does hurt but as long as it comes with good intentions.

What do you expect from an ex-Liverpool manager . He probably still is sore at being sacked and as a thing to do to prove that he can still do a better job. Anyways congrats on your early international retirement. Hope you can go into a coaching job soon.
