Re: Hanoi
Hello everyone. I don't post much and have been away for some time, but I thought I would take a few minutes to write some FRs for a few massage places I have recently been going. Hope this will help some people make their choices!
I mostly go to VIP rooms because for me the massage is about relaxing as much as possible. So for 1.5 - 2 hours is perfect for me. OASIS (on Lang Ha): This is my current favorite for VIP. Nice, big rooms and usually get good girls. I learned that whenever I have bored looking girl, it is almost always because she is new. So DON'T allow to give you new girls. Not a bad time, just boring and not worth the high ticket price. For interested brothers, I don't do FS but was offered once by number eight (7.5-8/10). Maybe someone else can report? SAKURA (on Cat Linh): I have some good experiences here, but past two times were only so-so. Last time was terrible. Girl didn't massage my back and twisted and pulled my hair for 10 MINUTES! OUCH! I asked her why she does that but she just laughed and asked if it hurt me? YES! Bad time so I will wait a long time to go back now. Also the VIP rooms are very small and cheap feeling. Even a small person can not fit in the tub. SAKURA (off Giang Vo): I forget the name of this street. This one is VIP only and more expensive, but I used to get good massage here. But last time girl try to make more money from me by lying about how I give her friend US$20 on top of VND tip. She would not be quiet about it and ruined my time. I won't go back because I don't like lying and trying to take more money that way. If girl goes "beyond the call of duty" it might be worth a better tip, but not just to lie and complain while I try to relax. So no more for here for me. It is ashame because there is good ambience. La Thanh (on Doi Can): A favorite for everyone here. My top choice if I don't want VIP. Simple, cheap and top quality for what you pay. I like that there is private steam and shower. Girls always nice too. ASEAN Hotel (on Chua Boc I think): NEVER GO HERE! I posted about this before but want to remind everyone. The girl made massage last longer, does not offer HJ and receptionist tries to charge me more for taking too much time! I laughed and quickly left to never go back. Maybe if someone has good experience here they can post it and convince me to try again? Tay Ho Resort (off Xuan Dieu): There is a big sign pointing from the street. Go all the way down and you will see it. VIP here is very nice, but have only been one time. I have not gone back because even though massage is great (she uses hot stones - my only time here for that) the girl is only so-so. Maybe 6.5-7/10. Anyone know are there prettier girls here? I will probably go back soon to try again because I like the massage and girl was nice and not complaining like some. Hanoi Hotel (off Giang Vo): Great massage but too expensive. The girl I have was very strong and really knows how to massage. No VIP and even regular prices can get VIP other places. Ashame because it is really great massage from the girl I had. BACH DO (extinct now!): I only put this because it was always my top VIP spot, even though now it is gone. Always beautiful girls and more than once was offered more than HJ at the end (not FS). Massage was always very good, even with many different girls, and always playful and nice. Never cry about tips. Probably good management I think. If I could find another place like this it would be great! Anyone know similar spots? Or where some of the girls from here go to work now? That's all from me. Sorry to post such a long review. I wanted to put some more info out there for those like me that like massage and relaxing VIP. Please share some experiences if you have time. Happy hunting! |

Sakura: near town center, there is a Sakura at 36 Trung Han Sieu. 350K for VIP, expensive as compared to other places, but you get a really nice room. Girls are quite nice there as well. Mexico: 35 Chau Long, no VIP room, but then, all the rooms are single rooms. Cheap, but very limited number of girls. It's a very smallish place, but the girls are quite playable. There is also another two places along Nghi Tam/Yen Phu; can't quite remember the exact address or names of the places, but they have big signs. Prices are average, decent rooms, girls not too bad. |

Only later I kinda remembered that they had a price system that I've never seen before: 60 mins (ok), 80 mins (huh?) and then 90 mins. I hadn't really read the description and picked the 80 mins... could it be that only the 90 mins would leave time for extras?? Would be very strange and very un-vietnamese, but that could explain things. In the Sakuras (I only know the ones on Trung Han Sieu and on Cat Linh) I also had very mixed results. Left more often pissed off than happy, not going back. As if they cared... |

Re: Hanoi
TroutFisher79, I forgot:
Did you ever get a reply to your Cat Toc question? If not, 80 Kim Ma - near Giang Van Minh is quite safe. I only went once because I think the whole rushed bj thing with curtains and wet-towels is just too strange, but it was no hazzle at least. Another safe one is 33 Thai Phien opposite Vincom Towers, enter thru caphe (which is also the problem, cuz near Vincom and much in the open, so quite risky to be seen). Also, for massage, Kingston on 53 Hang Chuoi is expensive but with high class VIP rooms etc. |

Re: Hanoi
I've never been to any other Sakura but Cat Linh. I've been there twice and both times sucked (pun not intended). The first time was some nha que aunty and the second time was a short bored girl. No fun either time and left feeling shortchanged.

I have never tried Kingston. I have heard too many mixed reviews. Also, so many people are now saying they hate Sakura. I think it is safe to say that it is now really not worth the money. For VIP we can go elsewhere and for regular La Thanh is close enough. No reason to waste money at Sakura. |

Re: Hanoi
To all bros,
I will be visiting Hanoi for the first time in three week's time. Can any bros advice on the followings:- a) any affordable hotels (bet S$40-60 a night) in Old Quarters district to recommend? I read that classic hotels are good. b) most reliable/convenient way from airport to hotel? and the charges? c) is it a must to bring along some US notes or Sing currency will do? Is withdrawing from ATMs convenient in Hanoi? d) what is the market rate for an overnight? Thanks |

b) Get out of departure hall, and the taxi queues are there. Flat 230K dong to get from airport to center of town. c) USD preferred. Can use HSBC ATMs to withdraw money as well. d) Depends, if you're picking them up from Hanoi / Fortuna Hotel, about US80 - 100 for overnight. |
