Another major project for Batam
Formosa Hotel and Residences Five star hotel, luxury apartments and five floors of parking
YET another major development project has been announced for Batam.
The Formosa Hotel and Residences project provides for one tower of 30 floors and a second of 23 floors and will be built as two stages on the 1.7 hectare site of the existing Formosa Hotel between the Lucky Plaza and Centrepoint shopping complexes in the heart of the Nagoya Central Business District.
The first tower will provide 400 under-croft car parking spaces occupying most of the first five levels, 300 apartments (one and two-bedroom) and around 150 hotel rooms. The five-star hotel will occupy the top five floors of the building.
The developers have established a sales office with display apartments and commenced marketing the first stage. Demolition of the rear section of the Formosa Hotel complex has commenced to make way for the beginning of construction. The developers expect Stage 1 will take three years from commencement to complete.
This project marks the beginning of a transformation in this area with other projects planned nearby.
I agree. Heaven or hell in Batam depends on how one can get a balance between both party,the guy and the girl.

Next time ,get a driver to bring you to Kaha Travel which is situated opposite Harmoni Hotel. Remember,its the hotel with Mcdonald at the side of the hotel (saying this cos there are 3 Harmoni hotels in Batam),you cant miss it as it should be the only Mcdonald restuarnt in Batam and then...go grab a room voucher from Kaha travel before you check in.
Above should help you save some money,even booking from Da Vienna original website also cheaper than your stated price. Money saved can be use for more taxi rides,hehehe...

If i'm not wrong thrive pub also have pool n billiard saloon in the same building right beside a pertamina petrol kiosk.the pool n billiard waitress are definitely syt.did saw the PRs sitting at the sofa but most of them seems bored as not much customer come to the pub.what the damage occurred bro?
I would say my Jakarta trip 2013 is still better than the Batam trip.All under one roof Hotel travel, classic hotel. Price, people, gal service etc., Jakarta is the best.........

Why means,for me need VisaOA.checked Embassy website, info shows VOA free only for certain ports( Batam, Sekupang). Harbour bay not there, I just give a try, buy in Horizon bay. After take ferry, wait in the Q for immigration. Went to the officer, asked for many details( where u stay, show hotel booking, how many days etc., Asked details with his fellow, one more guy joined him. Ask for my SG IC. I thought they are expecting something under table. Finally got chopped, come out without pay anything. Sorry bros to make this itself like a story...hehe
No no no...no apologies needed,in case you didnt know most of our fellow cheongster to Batam do not require ourselves to apply for VOA,therefore very litle has been shared here.You sharing of info on travelling via VOA are informative and valuable to bros here who arent Sillyporean or Malaysian (or countries that do not require VOA application) who travels to Batam.

Try flipping back some 1st timer newbie's FRs to read and you can understand better. more than 8 out of 10 bros using my batam guide scores higher in term of enjoyment. And all of them has rated higher than your trip even when 1 or 2 didnt really have a beyond expectation good time.
In my perspective ,you seems to have made your choice not to be guided.

I have said this before,travel slow...dont plan too much in one day. Drop your expectation by 50% or more. If one travels to joint A and joint B within a certain time,he may not be able to reach joint C at the Best Timing. Best timing here means the time where the joint/s has their most girls.

I think they are called Kost,works something like Balai. But in Batam,girls from kost can often be found in discotheque,pubs or clubs at more than half the price off. Just be extra careful with your belongings/valuable if you ever book any of the girls from kost.
I bet you know why mamis and papis were very angry with you. They have to entertain you and you are wasting their time. You didnt have many expectations tho,but you do have very very high expectation when you make a comparison between Jakarta over Batam (and later Sillypore too) and with hotels with everything under one roof?
I must agree,Jakarta should be better,but from a personal point of view,there are still things that Jakarta cant beat Batam on. And in Batam,i really really try my very best to avoid girls from Jakarta ,even if it means cheaper pricing.

I have already stated what went not-right in your trip's FR, take it with a pinch of salt as i may not always be right. Read all the above links and if anything you are not sure of,do feel free to ask. i am not expecting anyone to read the links once/twice and then understand them.
Just remember,my guides are mainly written when i am still a super newbie to Batam during beginning of 2014 and with the mentality almost similar with yours.
My golden rules for myself travelling to Batam :
1. Be humble,be nice,be well-mannered,be firm and not talk loudly. In short,dont have those "i have the money and i can drown you with my money" kind of attitude.
2. I try to remember to drop my expectation by half when i visit Batam
3. Use at least 1 hour to read the last 20 pages of the Batam Info thread for the most updated information.
4. Always get the Basic right 1st ,and know my position in the area where i am.
Lastly,may you have a successful good trip to Batam the next time round.
