Pardon for posting here, I'm planning my maiden trip to Hanoi for later this year.

Wanted to ask if anyone had any recommendations and advice for a solo cheongster in Hanoi, especially when I don't speak or understand Vietnamese? I'm planning on staying in an AirBnB rental around Old Quarter/French Quarter, as I heard many hotels have a 'taboo' against bringing an "overnight gal" back to your room?

Also wanted to confirm, Hanoi has only KTV, massage and pubs/bars for nightlife? I.e. no go-go bars or fishbowls like in BKK?

Any advice that experienced Samsters can share here would be welcome as I'm unable to find much info about Hanoi. Ho Chi Minh yes, Hanoi no.

They just simply change the old one to be the extension to the existing domestic terminal for domestic flights only and use Long Thanh for all international flights so those go other cuntries will lan lan have to use also......

I dun cheong much in Hanoi simply becos it of the dearth of such "interesting" joints as compared to the south

But you are right in staying in an apartment as its much more secured than trying to tapao in a regular hotel as its never guaranteed gf-frenly

And yes you are right that it does not have go-go bars in the whole of wetnam like BKK but there are some quite interesting types of spa massage parlours in Hanoi there which you cannot find the same concept in HCM, you will need someone to bring you there as such joints is pretty hidden and well-kept.
