Met an Angmo in MaeSai last year and is GF is from Khiang Tong. He is staying in MaeSai and set up and Internet Cafe there. What he did to get hos GF to stay there is to get help from the shop owner there to apply a work permit for his GF but not working there. He only paid for the fee for the work permit application.

When this aim is achieved, some try to file for divorce, disregarding the plight of their husband and children, to continue their quest of an even better life.

Yet this situation is dismissed as something that the `lecherous old man' has brought down upon himself.

I urge the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority to look into revising the law such that one's PR will be revoked when one files for divorce without any good reason, where the marriage had been the basis for their PR status.

Towards this end, there should be a body to verify who is at fault for the irreparable state of the marriage

Same procedures as long as u r living in this world n not other planet. Depends, no easy no difficult. My friend marry a PRC, within mths, she has her PR.

i totally agree wif the above statement, quoted from TODAY....

cos it will be fair for the man..who take all the trouble to bring the woman over to singapore and at then end of the day..she value the PR status than the man..

but i do hope the authority come easy when it deals with authentic application for PR....

just clear off those 'black sheeps' who come to singapore on the expense of the genuine ones...
