Re: JB Traffic Police, Customs, Fuel Check and Driving experiences
Thats the reason why I stated: "very CONFUSING minister" It is like that loh in Malaysia where bird brains are installed as ministers and run the government and MP's telling racist slurs and gender sensitive jokes [like "bocor"], some laws are funny to me: if there are 4 pax taking the rear seat, only 3 are mandatorily to belt up, the 4th and above...no need loh...so if the seat belt ruling is for SAFETY, then during an accident, the inertia force is selective! it only affects the 3 and the rest will not be thrown forward [government scientists testified and certified this mah]
What I observed was that the ruling was rather "relaxed" in the Northern region [Bukit Kayu Hitam] Maybe SGP folks are richer to fleece bah

FYI, I was booked too for not putting seat belts last week.. the best bet will be act as if you dun unstd malay and irritate them by speaking english to piss them.. some will just give up and ask you to go.. For me, that lackey kept on asking me to settle "on the spot" but i told him dun waste time.. issue the summon directly.. And when to pay for the summons, no one noes... maybe halfway their fine books got lost.. unlike our system.. you dun pay HDB or URA fines.. those MY cars cant leave customs.. so who cares.. my buddy ever kerna one for safety belt 3 yrs ago.. until now he is chionging JB like no body biz..

Re: JB Traffic Police, Customs, Fuel Check and Driving experiences
Yeah just to reiterate what ProfessorOokami said about Sg cars being exempted from the Rear seatbelt ruling, it's also posted on a Malaysian newspaper
http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2009/1/9/nation/20090109160157&sec=nation Always prepare a camera phone in the car so you can record this and post it on youtube. Even better if u can see the badge number of the cop. Then you can demand for 'bribe' from him instead |

Not so, with all the Singaporean suckers paying for all the slightest so-called infringement of the rule books, they are now the richest.

Re: JB Traffic Police, Customs, Fuel Check and Driving experiences
Reply to Professor Ookami:
The exemption ruling for the 4th passenger and above (rear seat) to belt up is due to the Malaysian government of protecting their own skin people (Malays, and Bumis). Pak Lah's minister has already conducted a comprehensive study on the number of registered vehicles under Malay / Bumi name, under this category, 65% vehicles are sedans (4-seater to 5-seater incl driver)[As at July 2008, Accessed from JPJ Portal]. An average Malay family has 6 children, but mostly own only one car; while non-Malays only have average of 3 or even less children, but there are people I know of under non-Malay category, family of 6 owning 8 cars! (Lexus Altezza IS350, Porsche Boxter, Toyota LandCruiser V8, Mercedes SL55 AMG, bla bla...) Malays dare to bear many children due to government support (eg Easy entry to Local Universities, Bumi 5 years Entrepreneurship tax-free, Compulsory 30% min bumi equity for any Chinese/Indian companies to go on KLSE Board). I suppose you can figure out why this seat-belt ruling is special. To Voltz: Please dun said that Malaysian government giving Sg ppl problems. I have encountered Sg gov giving me stupid problems also. Max free entry per foreign vehicle per year is 10 times during weekdays, like this where got Malaysians wanna bonk the girls at Geylang leh? For me weekend is family day, Sammyboy FL88 promotion is b4 3pm and during weekends, convert to RM siao la, almost RM 350 per session. Then Sg gov impose S$ 20 per entry ah... wah lau eh... All foreign vehicles need an Autopass, and when crossing the ERP gantry we all are required to use an ERP device or else pay a S$ 5.00 (what the heck?). Further info: ERP device costs S$300.00. And then every year we need to go to your LTA to update our Autopass. This is a pain in the ass. Like that, I must propose to the Malaysian government to impose a RM40 entry fee for Sg registered vehicles to Malaysia, compulsory Smart Tags (comes with state-of-art speed detector and non-transferable to other vehicles) when using Malaysian highways. I hope that my statements are not offensive, I would like to apologize to anyone who is not comfortable with these facts, please dun flame me for being very transparent and straight-forward. |

Re: JB Traffic Police, Customs, Fuel Check and Driving experiences
Bros,
Thank you for the information on JB Traffice Police. I have true incident to inform SG Bros - do not pump petrol at the ESSO petrol Koisk in from of Pelangi Shopping Mall. I was rob in broad daylight at the Petrol Koisk in front of the Cashier. I was about to pay my petrol bill of RM70.00 when 2 motorcycles came from the back of me and punch me and grab my RM70.00 from my hand and jump on their bikes and ride off. This happen to me on 18th Feb at 2.00 pm. I gave chase for a short distance and the pump attendant told me not to chase because the men are armed with weapons. The cashier told me that my incident was the tenth within 1 week - the owner of the petrol koisk told their staff not to report to the police as they are afraid of this motor bike gangs. They only rob SINGAPOREANS. From now onwards I will be armed with a Baseball Bat. Do pass this on to our bros who visit JB. |

Driving in Malaysia - Don't Offer "Duit Kopi" (coffee money)
Driving in Malaysia - Don't Offer "Duit Kopi" (coffee money)
Obtained this info from nets and to share with all of you, hope it is true and valid. For those who drive to Malaysia often. WARNING : DON'T OFFER DUIT KOPI DEAR FRIENDS If you have ever paid or are thinking of paying ' Coffee Money' when stopped for traffic or other offences, DON'T EVER Do This Again. The traffic department (JPJ) has recently started a campaign to be rid of corruption. Every Officer on duty will be rewarded with RM100.00 if they report each case of bribery to the department. This is how they do (trick you into) it. They will note down the details of your IC/MyKad, and ask you how you want to settle ( 'Macam mana nak selesai?') If you indicate yes or even offer to give them any money, they will report the incident by rejecting your 'Kopi Money' and get the RM100.00 instead as an incentive for their integrity and 'Honest' pubicity. This means that You will end up having a summon issued to you and perhaps a charge for bribery. SO DON'T PAY DUIT KOPI AGAIN, especially if you hope to go free with a lesser amount of money compared to the fine. Even if you want to pay over RM200, the JPJ Officers would rather have a 'good' name than to take your kopi money. Just beware of their trick because the cops are now accumulating 'cookies' points for their promotion and pay increment - with your help if possible. They should have done this to stop corruption long time ago... but anyway it's better late than never, right? SPREAD THIS MESSAGE TO EDUCATE OTHERS ON THIS NEW ANTI-RASUAH POLICY! AND DON'T YOU DARE TO CORRUPT ANY JPJ OR EVEN POLICE OFFICERS AGAIN! |

are due to the vast differences in cost and road tax between Singapore and Malaysia registered vehicles. There are many Malaysians working in Singapore and if allowed freely, they will drive into Singapore and due to constraints in land mass, will cause massive congestion in Singapore roads.

Re: JB Traffic Police, Customs, Fuel Check and Driving experiences
As a matter of fact, there are a few ways you can deal with those stu*** TP according to my experience.
Way 1: If you were followed by TP car/ cycle, and they try to stop you. You can always try to take longer time to pull over, remember, pull over in front of shops that full of crowds such as a mamak stall, restaurant etc. This will lower the TP's gut to ask for $$. Step out of your car after you pull over, as the crowd will see how you talk to TP. Way 2: Call them "dato", "cikgu" as these terms show your respect, they normally feel 'shiok', moreover, by calling them these terms, it shows that you know the game's rule and you are not a "green bird" that he can bully. Way 3: Ask for the reason that they stop you. If possible, say sorry, and ask for a chance to let go. Don't take the initiative to offer $$ as this may get you in trouble if he thougth that you look down on him. Way 4: If he asks you, "want to settle here?" Don't respond immediately, instead pretending you don't know and ask back "how he could help." To avoid the situation as told by bro gigantic. Personally I have come across TP a number of times as I used to drive around Malaysia. These are just some tips to take care of our "richest" TP, hope it helps. Happy travelling and happy cheonging~~ |

Re: JB Traffic Police, Customs, Fuel Check and Driving experiences
Hi all bro,
last thursday night around 10 pm i also kena stop by TP after the new custom as mention by him HID not approved. I drive Mazda 6 and i know that Malaysia have very little this kind of car then i told him this is factory fitted, approved by Sin Gov, he lan lan then let me go. Consider lucky le . Next time if bro go JB, just put RM30 on your wallet, when they want kopi money, just show him your wallet only have RM30, if want just take, don't want then issue summon loh, they sure will take the RM30. FYI, if M'sia TP issue summon, don't pay until get caught next time and pretend don't know. They won't send the notice to you SG address. If you are lucky until you die also no need to pay ....haha... |
