The situation here is more or less controlled by ICA - the number of visas issued as social visit passes, student passes, work permit etc.

Now, those social visit passes for 1month, 2months. Tourist staying for one whole month? Visit the zoo 5times to study primates behaviour???

Student passes - seems to be rather liberal here.

Work permits - understand that there are some bogus agencies who uses some fake papers to get work permits for WL.

So, there ain't any flooding of WL, just like the COE system la.

Now, with the supply limited, and the demand constant, we do not see much drop in prices.

And these WL have got high expenses, air ticket, upfront cost to get their permits, living expenses in SG etc. So, that is why the prices would hover around the same.

Hopefully, we get much better quality coming to our shores, in terms of younger ones, better looking ones and hopefully, with better service.

Well, probably the numbers seen in SG, ie. number of PRCs in SG, and the proportion of those WLs & cheats vs the decent ones is higher. That is highly possible. If really that many, or most, of PRC women are so bad, why are so many of them able to get married with their men in PRC, having children (though legally each couple can have only 1 child, many continue to have more than 1 by paying abit of fine only), happy families? U dun see the poppulation declining drastically?

While the rate of marriage & SG's population growth has raised SG Govt's concern, especially in recent years, hahaha.

Officially, PRC has 1.3 billion population. Unofficially, the number is actually higher by a few hundred million!! Let's use 1.3 billion; 1% of the population, we get 13 million, enough to flood / overflow SGP!!! 1 million is less than 0.1% of their official population count!

so, is 0.1% of population count still considered alot? Hee hee, a number game.

They have branched out onto college campuses, moved into private residential compounds and approached customers on handphone networks.

Estimates of the number of prostitutes in China vary widely from one million who earn their primary income from sex, to eight or 10 times that, including people who accept money, gifts or rent in exchange for sex.

The Communist Party is embarrassed by the thriving trade, which goes against everything it stands for. Occasionally there are highly publicised crackdowns, and prostitutes are rounded up.

But widespread prostitution does not exist without tacit police approval; the trade brings in money that helps support poor rural families and lines the pockets of everyone who helps protect the business - often including local authorities.

Most are from the countryside: rural women placing all their hopes for the future in China's increasingly competitive urban centres.

Some entering the trade are older than in the past, and some are much younger.

A 22-year-old freelance prostitute who takes calls from salon managers told The Washington Post that when she came to Beijing last June, the market price for women like her was US$20 ($35).

But now, because of increased competition from younger workers newly arrived from the countryside, her price has dropped to US$13.

Said Professor Jing Jun, who specialises in sociology and Aids policy at Tsinghua University: 'There was no open prostitution 25years ago.

'Fifteen years ago, you didn't find sex workers in remote areas and cities. But now it's prevalent in every city, every county.'
