Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
Central park is bang opposite hotel Valentinos....
Come to think of it.... Id rather hotel valentinos despite the steep price for a short trip... Central park looks pretty run down.... To me... Guess thts the state of most hotels in pinoy land.... Right guys? Valentinos asked me for deposit too.... But i conveniently ignored them... I called every third day tho just to mk sure my room was still available... Coz jan 13-14-15 very fully booked days at most hotels... Else id not even call |

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
oh btw, just in case anyone is interested, here is my views of the hotels on/near the strip i hv stayed in:
Royal Amsterdam: Expensive. Convenient as it is located on the strip. I personally don't like the rooms as they tend to have dark lighting. Good restaurant downstairs. Try the Cowgirl medium rare, to die for! Wifi in room Swiss Chalet: Mid. Nice themed rooms. The one on the ground floor has a nice full length mirror A little on the old side though. Just off the strip. Wifi in room Central Park: Mid. A bit run down. There is a bad odor from the water, they blamed it on the construction beside the hotel. Good security, gals need to be escorted out. Just off the strip. No wifi in room Pacific Breeze: Mid-High. Clean and bright. Good security, will call up to confirm the gal is leaving. Good restaurant. IMHO, the best around the strip. But at nights, can be a little scary walking the 20m to the hotel from the corner as it is dark. But i think should be relatively safe, just my super sensitive imaginations! No wifi in room Last edited by soundguy; 18-01-2012 at 06:21 PM. |

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
And my humble views on food:
DAU Terminal Bulalo: Nice portions, very tender but a little salty. I did not take any rice with it, so that may be why. Pagor Casino Restaurant: Very nice bulalo, i go for it every time i am there. A little warm in afternoon as the aircon is not working too good Pork Egg Burger near Jeepney Terminal: Wow! love it! Thanks bro Z for bringing us there. Will definitely return for more next trip. Roasted Chicken near Jeepney Terminal: Nice succulent chicken but i think they will try to pull a fast one on non-locals. price should be 150p but they charged Bro Z an extra 10p. As you know, many of us dun take to kindly on being taken advantage of, so this is not a place i will return to. Pacific Breeze Restaurant: Nice simple food. A bit on the pricey side, but is open 24 hours. Bee Hun is good and the morning poached eggs are something i find different. Jolibee: Best to avoid unless nothing else to eat Roast Chicken by the roadside in Fields: Good but expensive. But when u r half drunk and hungry, this is heaven sent! Angus Beef at Royal Amsterdam: One of the best steaks i hv ever tried. Go for the smaller Cowgirl medium rare. never failed me before! |

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
Talking about Food our GCO taxi69, recommends the T Bone Steak at Swiss Chalet Resto.
In fact our group had suggested Black Angus considering that its a famous resto as well. But taxi69 who had tried both deferred in favour of Swiss Chalet and he loves his steaks Medium Rare. For me its Medium Well... PS: I know different bros may have different perspectives on food. Some may like.... others dun.... and others may like what we dun like.... So there you go.... 2) Salt in the food... Gosh thats really annoying.... Wonder how many of the folks in the Philippines are suffering from hypertension and other disorders considering their salt intake.... On our first night we were at Ko Ko Mos eating our dinner. We had ordered Adobo amongst other dishes.... Geez.... the salt levels really turned us off.... 3) Agreed the Bulalo at Dau Terminal is better... 4) Hotels in the Philippines are pretty much a dump.... Their lighting is pretty odd....generally very dimly lit..... And toilets leave a lot to be desrired. Maybe thats how it is.... acceptable in that part of the world.... To me i love clean toilets..... And i must say that Casa Del Roque was pretty decent when compared to even higher priced hotels.... brightly lit.... lotsa space etc... I also want a pretty decent/cold aircon.... And the lighting should be bright.... And i should have the option to reduce lighting to dimmer levels after i have had my drinks.... Drinks plus bright lighting is a NO NO There are a lot of new age hotels coming up.... So obviously expect better facilities out there..... Last edited by The Lord; 18-01-2012 at 07:14 PM. |

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
Sir Freez i totally agree with you on this post....
Thats why i am very much of a small bar person... When i am in the bigger bars i am generally blinded. I cant seem to see nor can i seem to choose among the 100s of dancers. You are absolutely right.... The pho3000 upwards girls may not be better performers... Sometimes may not even be great lookers.... And yes you are right.... It just costs more to Da Bao them.... And they may end up as runners too.... There are runners in the smaller bars too.... And yes its annoying when they wanna run.... But i dunno why i prefer chicks from the smaller bars..... Quote:
