Thirty suspected call girls were nabbed in the budget hotel. — Picture by Hairul Anuar Abd RahimIT was a comical scene in downtown Johor Baru recently as a man took off in a huff after he realised that police were raiding the prostitution den he was in.

The incident took place at noon at a budget hotel near Jalan Wong Ah Fook. The man, in his mid-30s, tried to climb out of a window on the third floor of the building as the main entrance was guarded by policemen.

However, he was spotted and detained to aid investigations.

Vice, gambling and secret society investigation department commanding officer DSP Mohammad Abd Hamid said 30 local women and 35 foreign customers were detained in the raid.

Mohammad said police later conducted a raid at another budget hotel.

"Initial investigations show that sexual services were being offered between RM60 and RM100 at the budget hotels," he said.

He added that the suspected prostitutes had tried to flush condoms down the toilet bowl.

The prostitutes, aged between 22 and 35, were detained together with a woman in her 40s, who was believed to be the pimp.

Items seized during the raids included sex toys and cash amounting to RM12,000.

Bangladeshi man with pants down in raids on JB budget hotels

JOHOR BARU : A Bangladeshi national was caught with his pants down when police raided two budget hotels in the city centre.

The 35-year-old man who was buck naked, was swooped by the cops while he was having sex with a prostitute in a hotel at Jalan Wong Ah Fook.

He was among 35 other men — who were mostly foreigners — detained during the anti-vice raid which began at 2pm.

Johor police Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies (D7) division officer deputy Supt Mohammad Abd Hamid said police had cordoned off some sections in the area and sealed all possible escape route for the sex workers and their clients.

“We arrested 30 prostitutes who were mostly locals, aged between 22 and 35 years old.

“The men who were detained were mostly Bangladeshis and Indonesians,” he said.

He added initial investigations showed the two hotels in Jalan Wong Ah Fook were interconnected through the third floor.

Police believed vice activities there has been going on for the past two months.

Supt Mohammad said police also confiscated RM12,000 in cash including contraceptives and towels.

The sex workers, he added, have been charging between RM60 and RM100 per encounter.

“The brothels operated daily and became a main meeting place especially on weekends for men seeking sexual services,” he said.

Supt Mohammad added those detained including a momma-san (mother hen) were taken the Johor Baru Central police station for questioning.

“The case is investigated under Section 372 of the Penal Code for prostitution,” he said.

agree with you,but sumetime,,this is just to make sure public notices the P forces work hard to banteras maksiat.. 1 or 2 raid,,will not decrease balai monthly side income..hahahha
