Not sure the current or future generation of SG leaders even understand the pragmatic need for a relatively "licensed" and regulated commercial sex industry precisely for the reasons you stated.

Arh, as always, speaking about the sex trade in an intellectual way. Totally agree that it's a bit outdated to keep championing the moralistic ideology when more and more "educated" women are putting their own price tags on themselves. Anyway just to clarify, Brix closed down because of governmental intervention or it's because of Covid-19 restrictions?

You can have a good and normal live with HIV, no problem. More chances to die in Singapore from dengue or traffic than Covid. Life must go on!

Think Brix closed down because of Covid-19 restrictions hitting hospitality market hard. Overnight clientele evaporated, think Grand Hyatt got used as a quarantine hotel too at some point before. I remember walking into the gutted Brix a few months ago; they didn't even bother anymore to lock the main door for its entrance and just left the rope barrier there. Went inside, everything gutted, all fixtures ripped, nothing remaining, the whole place was used for storing extra furniture from the hotel lobby and whatnot.

Sad end to the place.

A 30-year-old Malaysian who works as a massage therapist at Zenith Healing @ La Maison De Ja has been linked to this cluster. She is a close contact of a previously confirmed case, a 21-year-old Malaysian who works as a kitchen staff member at Indo Bowl (39 Sultan Gate).
She developed a sore throat and cough during quarantine on May 28, but her test result the same day came back negative.
The woman subsequently developed a fever on Jun 1, and another test the same day came back positive.
