Bro, is that your first SPR application？Not meeting residential requirement means that she has not to stay in Singapore for a certain period of time, and you got try your luck in another 2 years again loh. Last time 12 months can reapply liao.

she stay here less than 3 month...her fren first time apply got reject,but go ask MP for help,then ICA come letter ask them go interview..then finnally get it..i remmeber there some post saying when they receive LTSVP,got say something stay can look job,but then cannot look job,something like that..but my LTSVP only ask go for medical check up...

Medical Check-Up is the pre-requisite before the approval of LTSVP lah. Congrats!

This is one of the first steps in getting yr wife a PR. Congrats, you're lucky...

I just got my letter last week and my wife's LTSVP has been rejected saying "You may wish to re0submit another application for our consideration after ONE YEAR when your employment is more establilshed and you have a regular source of income"

wtf ... how can I not have a regular income and my employment is more established when I am self-employed for 17 years and draws salary every month. If I don't, then how can I afford a 5-room flat, and drive a car ??!?!?

ok ... lets go by ICA's "book" and go along with it .... what am I suppose to do now? 1-year LTSVP failed, what am i suppose to appy now ? SHORT TERM 1-mth ? From the looks of it, ICA wants my wife and 6-mth old daughter to be OUT of Singapore.

I agree cereal-killer! It is VERY true. Chinese mainlanders are alot like this.

NUS, NTU, SMU pay tuition fees, scholarship and even subsidize for these foreign students, once got their PR and say bye-bye. Nowadays, lots of foreign students (especially mainlander Chinese) coming to Singapore for studies.

hi bro diesel,

UK PR is also not easy to get too..alot of processes and requirements..unless the person is married to a UK citizen, this will make the process more easier..

as for SG PR, if i am not wrong, it only valid for 5 years..thus that will b needed to be renewed before end of the 5th year...

PR will have their PR privileges only in the country that the PR is given..so they still need visa to travel to most of the place eventhough they r SG PR..

as an example, if a chinese from china is given a sg pr, when that person travel to us ot uk,he/she still need to apply for visa..

just give my 3 cents of thought..cheers

Just 1 question, is it becuase the lady is PRC that's why it's so hard? cuz recently a friend of mine married his pinoy girlfriend ROMed, and applied her over which she will be studying in SHATEC. everything was a breeze. got her LTSV without questions asked too.

my friend's only a student and works parttime.

is it because there are stricter regulations for people from PRC?

While in the process of applying for LTSVP they gave only 1mth. A month later (no reply from ICA then) they gave 2mths, and 2mths later and still no reply we went down again and was given 1mth again.

Now LTSVP rejected, her 1mth is coming up some time next week.

i wonder if nationality matters, cuz as for students, it's kindda easy and cheaper for pinoys and other nationalitys like burmese etc as compared to PRCs cuz PRC has this security deposit thingie right?

i'm pondering on this question too cuz my wife's burmese... Myanmar passport

Your spouse's social pass could be the short term renewable type, since ICA still consider your LTSVP application, citing your self-employment income is constant.

that's what he told me though..

Your friend's case is one of many few cases who can get it with breeze. I'm sure ICA will approve the application, if they see something they wanted. If not, they will prolong the process.

I believe ICA will not disclose much on the ratio of approval for each individual nationality. But seems like beside our malaysia neighbour, all other nationals are subjected to stringent control and screening.

since PR is not easy at the start, LTSVP is expiring, for those self-employed, maybe can get them EP, under your own company name lor.... then, can stay long long. After sometime, apply PR under the company name, but hor, cannot write 1 paragraph hor... must machiam write essay for your GP, write abit long maybe 1 1/2 page of A4 size paper.
