Another late night of work (11pm), no chance of picking up good-looking girls in KTV so just use the nearby massage place. Bro, what do you mean by "nice women"? Vics at Workers' Stadium is pretty decent, especially on Fridays and Saturdays, although I would say you need quite a bit of skill to score there. I heard from Bro Funcpad that Pepper Bar along Chaoyang Park West Gate is full of nice women too. Give these places a try and let us know.

Hi ShawnT, besides Pepper Bar at 朝阳公园西门, you can also check out Suzie Wong there where local girls chill out, there's live music and quite crowded on weekends and no touts there. There are also many small bars with live mando pop music at 后海 and 莲花市场. The crowd here are a mix of locals and tourist. Some touts here but not as bad as 三里屯. Happy hunting!

Hi ShawnT, it's not near babyface which if I recollect correctly is located at Workers' Stadium North Gate. U can copy down the ChaoYang Garden West Gate (朝阳公园西门) or Her Hua Shi Chang (荷花市场) and show it to the Taxi driver.

Been busy as hell last 4 weeks with OC Beijing "Spot-check" Visit followed by a long business trip back to US Office. Anyway was back to Beijing last few days with a US ABC IT Manager to continue back end work in China.

The Chance Meeting

There are lots of SYT's and groupies drinking their whisky/brandy with green tea mixtures, some premixed color drinks with those lighted sticks thingy. We chose a spot at the central bar and ordered our TsingTao beer. Barely into the 2nd round my ABC friend nudged me, he has spotted his prey and wanted my opinion. The SYT was probably mid to late 20's with flowing long hair and a sweet dimpled smile.

I checked her out for a few minutes to see if she was with anyone. Several minutes later, she was joined by another 3 gals and it appears that they were on a gals' night out. They ordered their drinks and we continued to observe from across the bar. My ABC friend is beginning to drool and I was like mentally planning my attack strategy.

I went up to the group of 4 gals and make some initial conversation about having seen them here 2 weeks ago ( a lie obviously!) and offered to buy them a round of drinks. They look all around themselves and finally agreed and requested for that premixed color drinks with the lighted sticks. I signalled the bar tender and showed him 2 fingers=meaning 2 orders. It came with about 6 to 7 drinks in a large glass container with some color lighted sticks inside filled with ice and water. It was a gimmick really. I signalled my ABC friend from across the bar to join me.

We ordered more TsingTao beer and soon everyone was making small talk. My ABC friend was trying to impress the dimpled smile gal with his sensesless limited mandarin (having learnt a few phrases from me prior). Anyway they did hit it off and soon was dancing away. The drinks flowed and I have not found my prey and was soon restless....the other 3 gals were not my type so I just made small talk along the way.

It was about 11.30pm when the dimpled smile gal said that she was having a tummy ache and was not feeling well..she wanted to leave Cargo for some fresh air. The 3 gais still wants to party and was not prepared to go and tried to persuade her to stay for a while longer. I jumped at this opportunity and suggest that she should get out for some fresh air and see if her tummy gets better. My ABC friend, the dimpled smile gal and myself stepped out onto the lane outside. What a nice welcome relief from the noise, smoke and all that din inside.

Her tummy ache got worst and was feeling faint. I got her to phone her friends inside and get her to informed them that I am sending her home now. Since my ABC friend was staying at the Hilton Hotel at 3rd ring, I boldly suggested that she take a rest there being the closiest place to Cargo. Without getting any approval or rejection from her, I quickly drove the 3 of us back to the Hilton Hotel.

I sent my ABC friend and the dimpled smile gal to his room and was leaving for home in Chaoyang Park. I have no clue if she had faked the tummy ache and will wait for an FR from the ABC fella later today.........."The Event"...

meanwhile my own adventure was in the making without my realisation..........to be continued.....
