I know how you feel. I did my prof cert shortly after I start work. I just don't think I can take an exam anymore. I do admire / respect anyone who can still pursue post graduate qualification past 40 yrs old.

what i am taking is not a post graduate qualification. its just a cert that i thought could earn more money for my expensive toys with expensive activities. if i were to take a post graduate qualification, i would not be lurking here reading stories... hahahah!

I presume its CPA related? No?

My conclusion is additional qualifications doesn't pay off. Better to just spend whatever you have for retirement for the expensive toys.

most companies in Singapore, especially those big entities, they just cannot change their mindset about paper qualification.. judge salary and position much based on the qualification..

and this mindset rubs off on the graduates, who think too highly about their paper when they come for interview.. i have one telling me about all the certification he has and all the leadership course that he has gone through.. i hired the one that told me the many part time jobs he did and what he learnt from the jobs.. lol

Ha ha, over selling kills a sale. Not everyone buys stuff based on specs. Beyond the basic qualifications, everyone will look at the non qualitative factors.
