Twenty-six of the suspects arrested in connection with Sunday's riot in Little India are expected to appear in court on Tuesday to answer to charges of rioting, police said.

In a statement on Monday, the police said one more suspect was nabbed since the chaos was resolved on Sunday night. This takes the total number of people nabbed for rioting to 28.

Of those arrested, 25 are Indian nationals, two are Bangladeshi nationals, and one is a Singapore permanent resident. The Singapore PR and 25 Indian nationals will be charged in court on Tuesday morning for rioting.

Further investigations revealed that the two Bangladeshis were not involved in the incident, said the police.
