Pub issues advisory that dhmo found in your pipes is not harmful

http://therealsingapore.com/content/...es-not-harmful PUB ISSUES ADVISORY THAT DHMO FOUND IN YOUR PIPES IS NOT HARMFUL Post date: 1 Apr 2015 - 2:51pm  An April Fool's joke from Facebook page Wake Up, Singapore has caught the attention of the Public Utility Board (PUB):  Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO), a molecule of two hydrogen and one oxygen atom, is actually water (H2O). The prank is a 40 year old hoax that simply labels the properties of water, like hot DHMO will burn skin, long term usage of DMHO will corrode metals, excessive inhalation of DMHO is deadly and the exposure to DMHO can cause short electrical circuit. Apparently some Singaporeans with very limited chemistry knowledge have alerted the PUB to the hoax and hence the clarification from PUB. A commentator said that some Singaporeans are overly serious:  While the rest generally ridicule the level of chemistry knowledge of those who alerted PUB:    Facebook Page Wake Up, Singapore has since apologized for their April Fool's joke and it remains to be seen if PUB will lodge a police report over this:  Do you think some Singaporeans are too serious and cannot take jokes?
