The Victoria Cross is a prestigious military award. The Congressional Medal of Honour is a prestigious military award. the Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Tentera) is a piece of crap. LOL. Really, the PAP needs to stop reading their own propaganda. A country that has never been to war, has not fought any battles, have not won any conflicts, has abosolutely no prestige in its armed forces. hence it does not have a "prestigious" military award.
SINGAPORE: The Chief of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Vice Admiral (VADM) Timothy Barrett was conferred Singapore’s prestigious military award, the Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Tentera) - or Meritorious Service Medal (Military) - by President Tony Tan Keng Yam on Tuesday (Jun 28).
Defence Minister Dr Ng Eng Hen presented the award to VADM Barrett at an investiture held at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), and he was conferred the award for his “significant contributions to forging closer ties” between the RAN and the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), according to MINDEF.
VADM Barrett promoted greater cooperation between both navies in bilateral and multilateral exercises, such as Exercise Singaroo, Exercise Kadaku, and most recently, the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus Maritime Security and Counter-Terrorism exercise, which Singapore co-organised with Australia, Brunei and New Zealand.
The
Singapore Armed Forces and the Australian Defence Force have a long history of military cooperation in the form of bilateral and multilateral training exercises, operational cooperation and professional exchanges, said MINDEF.
