PRC woman found strangled in hotel KUALA LUMPUR: A Chinese national was found strangled to death in the toilet of a budget hotel on Jalan Scott, Brickfields, yesterday morning. The 27-year-old woman, identified as Hu Xin Yu from the hotel registration, was clad only in her underwear when she was found by housekeeping staff about 7am. Her passport, mobile phone and several other personal documents were missing. Police found used condoms in the victim’s room. Witnesses told police that she was last seen taking a man into her room about 2am. Earlier, when the man turned up, he was not allowed in by hotel staff. He demanded that the front office call the woman who later came down and took him to her room. Brickfields deputy police chief Superintendent Arjunaidi Mohamed said the suspect was seen leaving hurriedly some three hours later. He left in a metallic green Proton Waja. He said initial checks revealed that the victim had checked into the hotel on Sunday. "We also believe that she knew the man as she took him to her room," he said.
