That was because Anzhi was a strong team.
There was the possibility of Liverpool losing the game last night as Anzhi are the "Man City" of Russia and funded by their new Arab owner.
Last night's match could have gone the other way if Samuel Eto had been on form.

Seems like the Liverpool players are afraid to shoot and try for goal.
Somehow they prefer to pass when the opportunity to shoot is there.
Fanciful passing dun win games so I think they will lose tomorrow's derby with Everton.

Quite a number of players are playing in their 1st Merseyside derby game, hope the nerves dun get into them.

But we must have confidence in the lads & they will raise their game against them.

But we just played a game on Thursday night.Some of the players might be tired. I am guessing that Everton is going to park the bus in front of their goal and rely on counter attack and set pieces . Of course I also hope that our team will get another positive result.

I tend to think the opposite. Everton has been playing good attacking football this season (Jelavic and Miraslav are good buys!) and I expect them to bombard us from the start. Of cos the absence of Pienaar and hopefully their anchorman Fellaini will be a big boost to us. Everton's backline is pretty solid and I hope to see more contributions in attack fr d other players rather than over-relying on Suarez to create or supply the goals.

Everton's game this season has changed from their previous seasons.... they are now an attacking team with Baines / Miraslav providing the thrusts from the flanks and Fellaini / Pienaar through the middle and they interchange their attacks so comfortably.

Gerrard / Allen / Sahin need to be turbocharged tonite to contain them.
