i recommend "saung 89 seafood" at PIK fresh market there .
but remember , the pricing is measured through the weight of the choice of meat you want them to have them cook . remember to ask how many 'ons' ( ounce ? ) 1 'on' is 100gram .

had dinner of 4 diners with a total of 247,000 rupiah . which is about 21-22 sgd for a flounder , another fish , 300g of prawns , vege , 200g grilled sotong .

got stingray ..... but singapore and johor's stingray quality is far far better ^^;;;;

Golden Crown Disco

Bros,

Although this review is coming nearly a month late, I figure it is better late than never, and i hope some may find it useful.

Intro Golden Crown is the largest and most popular Disco/Entertainment center in North Jakarta (Kota). It is spread across different floors of the Glodok building, and any taxi driver will know the location. Any introductory visit to Jakarta would be incomplete without visiting this establishment at least once.

Golden Crown houses a 1. EDM music lounge with dancers/strip show (Digitech Lounge) 2. HUGE music hall with Indo dugem headbanger music (Discoteque)3. KTV rooms with hostesses 4. Coyote Drinking Lounge / Live band with Thai hostesses 5. Spa with Full service. The website is here: http://www.goldencrown.co.id/index.html for more info. It is the only Club in Jakarta that is guaranteed to be busy every night, and has a nice mix of Regular Girls, Working Girls, and Freelancers floating about. The entry fee is free for women, $7 for men on weekdays, and $10 on weekends. It does not get going until 11pm and stays open until 5am!. On weekends it is really busy and you will need to reserve a table if you want seating in the EDM lounge.

Caution The reason this club is fun is also a reason for Caution. Although generally safe, this club is not for the faint of heart or weak-minded beta-males. As with all North Jakarta Clubs, there is a prevalence of Drugs (mostly X) here and you will see many people (mostly in the Dugem Discoteque) dancing mindlessly to the music here. They are not dangerous nor violent, but you should avoid this place if that bothers you. However, this place is highly 'protected' by authorities and you do not need to worry about any raids, police or such. On the other hand, these substances make girls extremely horny and i've had some amazing sexual encounters picking up girls from here. Its up to you and your comfort level in drug-laced environments. I won't comment more on this, but PM me if you need more info.

Girls The main reason i come here is to pickup girls and enjoy the EDM music and drink. Regular girls usually sit at various tables with friends or dancing - you will need some 'pickup' game to get lucky with them, but they are very approachable and worth a shot. Hostesses work for Crown, but they can accompany you in the lounge/discoteque/KTV room if you pay for their sitting fee. You can choose your Hostess in a sitting room (ask staff to show you) and there are about 40-50 to choose from (mostly CFM look), the sitting fee is 1.2J for all night (600k fee + 600k tip), but this is for company only, and does not include 'extras'. If you like your hostess, i would try negotiate privately with her, as it is rather expensive to 'da Bao' from the company. Freelancers are scattered throughout the building, mostly standing alone or in small groups at entrances, or sitting in the hallway couches, or standing along sideline walls. You need to make the first move with them - you can usually tell by looking at them and seeing whether they break eye contact! I've picked up all 3 of these types of girls here, and they will all want you to buy them drinks (not cheap here, around $12-16/cocktail, local beer cheaper) or drugs. If you have 'game', you can pickup the regular girls without spending too much (1 or 2 drinks). Some girls will want you to buy them drugs (they will know how to get them there). For the FL girls, they will also want $$, but my strategy with them is not to discuss money and just take them to my hotel for sex. If i end up with 2-3 shots and i am happy the next morning, i usually pay around 1 Juta and they accept that (although some would ask for 2-3Jt!!). There is no set rule for FL price, but i suspect i could get away with 600-700k if i wanted, especially if i buy her drinks or 'more'.

Coyote Lounge/SPA The Coyote Lounge is just a drinking lounge with a live band, dancers, and Thai hostesses that drink with you. You will have to tip them, or buy them 'flowers' to sit with you. I do not reccomend this place because the Thai girls are not obliged to go home with you. You may be able to get their # and take them out after work, but this is far from certain and i rather not waste my time like that. I have never tried the upstairs SPA, but i am always intrigued by this, and will try it next time in town.

Taxi Mafia/Scams One thing that annoys me here is the Taxi mafia that congregates at the entrances/exits. The lounge/disco is located at the 8th floor, and the taxis at this exit (by parkade) will quote 100-150k to drive you somewhere in N.Jakarta that should cost under 30k. You will get a slightly better deal with the taxis at the ground floor exit (past 7-11), who will quote around 100k for a short ride, although I've gotten as low as 70k by pretending to walk away. If these scams really bother you, you can walk 5 min to the main street on Gaja Mada/Hayam Wuruk to grab a meter taxi, but i usually negotiate the best price i can for a nearby cab since it's dark the streets are dingy/grungy and i am usually buzzed with a girl who wouldn't appreciate that. Also beware if you are paying your Drink/KTV Bill at crown using CC - there were reports years back that some employees were 'skimming' CC numbers, but i think the Club clamped down on that as i don't hear that anymore. It's safer to pay cash, or cover your fingers when entering your PIN to prevent issues.

Overall Golden Crown is a unique club in North Jakarta and one of my favorites. I enjoy the EDM music in the digitech lounge, and it has a wide variety of different types of girls where i can use different types of 'game'. If you are more introvert, you can book a KTV room and get a hostess, and just pop out occasionally to one of the lounges/clubs for a break or to checkout other girls. In any case, I never leave this place without a warm clamshell to deposit my sausage at night! I recommend you check out this place at least once, unless you are the very shy/timid/beta-male type that gets easily scared and afraid of having to work a little bit for your 'dinner'. You really have to enjoy high-energy environments, and those beta-bros who don't are better off going to a Spa or Classic Hotel where you just 'point and shoot' without any work or hassle.

i met this pretty local chinese lady in a club ( the one where the stage floor is at the centre ) . She's in her early 30s , and alone in a table . she's just a patron actually , not working in Crown .

so i walked towards here and introduced myself , offered if she wants to come over with us to our table haha . She said "later" as she have to finish her snack first which presumably an early rejection . i can look at it by her body gestures that showed that she is being ....territorial .

well sua lah , i head back to our table just watch and enjoy the live band performance and sexy dancers later that .

like minutes later , a fat arab middle aged man approached her and sat next to her . deep down i felt down to see her kena hit on by another guy oh well , i just stayed relax and try not to think about . move on and enjoy other things .

the odd thing i observed from meters away from our table . she kept requesting the waiter for some drinks and other snacks , and place it on the guy's tab and he pay for everything ... .

when i left to other club , coyote ugly for a few minutes . return back to that club to get the rest of the samsters to tell them that we call it a day . that chinese lady disappeared and left the arab guy alone in the table . ..... well well , we spotted a Man-eater .

There are always 'maneater' types in every club that will 'chop' weak men with pussies, not just in Crown. Anyone who goes clubbing at all will know this and this is nothing new in any city.

You will find man-eaters in other places like X2, immigrant, CJs etc.. The 'game' is played by women and men alike, and if you sense woman just ringing up tab to hang you dry, you should cut her loose. I usually decide this after 1 drink, and i cut her loose if no attraction or i can't physically escalate by touching some sensitive parts on her body. Personally, i think the Arab is also to blame for being a weak pushover and making himself a target. He should know that many women in these places are vultures looking for freebies, just like we are!
