Just back from Jakarta, stay there 4 nights. spent about 3000 SGD totally. visited many popular spa spots and good restaurants.
1) Generally Jakarta is safe. I stay at Grand Mercure Harmoni. Blue bird taxi group is trustworthy. Massage in Grand Mercure Harmoni is good. 620K/90mins. deserve the money
1) Basically spa is not cheap. Mostly service is very bad compared to CAT150 in Geylang. Charge for local girl in Alexis is 1.45 million/hour. Imports cost 2.45 million/hour. Service is bad. Local girl quality is ordinary.
2) Don't go to Illegals Spa/club. The club is dead. Very few customers even at 11 pm. Girl quality in Illegals and B Fathion is very bad. The illegals spa charges 35% tax, which is unreasonable. Maybe it is because I can't speak any local language.
3) Searched in internet, there are many negative reviews for clubs -- they try to fool or chop customers, especially you are regarded as a tourist. So I dare not visit these luxury clubs.
4) spent 3 weeks in finding girls in Daboo before departure. Finally got a high-quality girl. she is young, fashion and gorgeous. She kinda like me. And stayed with me for two nights. 9 millions. she deserve the money.
5) I should have spent more time in doing club to find quality girl instead of visiting spa. Better not go alone.

Maybe you were just unlucky or you have got very high expectations. Alexis overall is generally fail-safe especially for first timers to Jakarta. I've been there just 2 weeks ago and I find the quality of the locals ceweks there very good compared to Malio or empo. Maybe sometimes is about the timing.. good quality one working so the rest left are the so so ones. I also found a short hair PRC there pretty nice as well as her friend whom both accompanied me for dinner at the lounge on 7th floor.

It's not always easy to try clubbing in Jakarta if you don't speak bahasa indon. Of cos, you can try to go to clubs with more foreigners but you might end up spending alot of time just trying to pick up or "fighting" with the bules.
Anyway, first time is always the toughest, hopefully you will have better luck next time... up you my humble 5. Cheers

Spa in Jakarta is both cheap as well as good service. You're just unlucky to try the wrong girls and wrong places. If you want cheap with good service almost guaranteed , go to King Cross, Sumo Spa or D'Heaven.
Also in places like King Cross level 1 and level 2, the papi or mami bring the girl to sit with you. In that 5 minutes you can gauge if her service is going to be good e.g. place a hand on her leg. If she holds it, then grasp her hand tighter, then say she is so beautiful. If got no reaction then this girl is mechanical. If she smiles and you, bring her closer to you and she moves closer then most likely session will be good.
Lastly, sometimes just be thick skinned and directly ask the girl if her service is good before choosing. Many give a very positive and convincing nod. And you can do all this with zero or little bahasa by using google translate.

Illegals club is completely dead and reported here already, if you had done the research you'd have known. But since it's so near your hotel, not a big deal to try it, just wasting time. Girl quality in Illegals spa is subjective but I went twice and both times found very few pretty girls so your conclusion is correct. B Fashion, I don't agree because the girl changes in the same locker as you and spends time in the pool and then in the room, I found the whole package quite worth it.
As far as 35% tax charge is concerned I'm not aware of such high tax but no matter what tax, they have rate cards for all packages and inclusive of room etc should still total up to what you should be paying e.g. the spa girl for 1 shot include tax, room etc should be about 800K and nothing more. The normal massage girl should be 350K excluding tips if she fly aeroplane for you, just pay her cash directly.

Your best option is a massage package at BFashion, where they do butterfly and honey licking package.
King Cross also have some ladies do body2body massage ++, i dont think its a soapy i didnt try, but would be close enough for me.
The only true soapy massage i know, there are 2-3 shops beside each other near manga besar. One is called Berlain, but the gal quality is not good, usually MILF and many CMI. If you are nearby you can pop in and look at stocks, but dont expect model or stunners.
Your best option is a massage package at BFashion, where they do butterfly and honey licking package.
Orchardz spas (grand boutique spa) also provide the same services as Bfashion ie. butterfly, ice smoothie etc etc.. and it's nearer if you're staying in kota. Or they have one near the airport which by far is the most consistent in terms of services n quality.
