Taking a small sum of money for organizing is ok for me i suppose but most impt is make it transparent... i hate those ppl who damm stingy and like care this and that small money .. make fun become boring ~ just my 2 cents worth of thought....

Tq bro 3dee for checking out the rates. Will avoid going when fair is on. Got caught once during fair, hotel rates above RMB1000/night. Great if u can also provide guidelines on KTV rates in Houjie. Of course not Sheraton KTV, very bad service n crazy billing.

Interesting discussion. Many people from countries with strong currencies and high income (Singapore, UK, US) can't really feel it when the bill per person is Y50 or even Y200 more than the actual. This discrepancy is what many earn in an hour or less.

So what is a fair fee for organizing? How about people who go to ktv regularly and don't really need someone to organize? Do these people still need to pay Y50-Y200 more? It is not question of affordability. It is a question of principle. Of course many people with reasonably high paying jobs and don't frequent ktv that much may just ignore this "fee".

There are so many, many ways for the "organizer" to benefit from first paying the bill and collect from the others. To name a few - divide the bill by less people, inflate the actual bill outright, bring extra bottles of liquor from the supermarket and "add" to the bill, quietly get a 20-30% rebate from the ktv joints, order more but keep the extra for the next round (when most of the people paying won't be going), and something I've heard recently - bring fake bottles of expensive liquor and swap the real with the fakes.

Though I frequent SE Asia countries more, I understand transparency is a dirty word in China.

That happen in the LOS...Look at the thread, it looks more like a war zone then a warm place to exhange info. It's these no standard people out to ride on newbies n fellow cheongsters.

To start off, in CP u need not anyone to move around. Even for first timer. The CP thread got so many info and nice bros who are more than willing to provide good information n company from their heart with no string attached and perosnal agenda. I m one of the many beneficiaries from the original Events in CP thread. So MANY HELPFUL BROTHERs there... Just post the requests or PM any of the senior bros there. You


Morever, we want cheong in class or at least with certain standard. And associated with smuggle of drinks in and yet save only a few dollars.... the bulk of the saving been taken by the so call "friends".....

Bro you are right...however pls note that even in the original Events in CP thread...there are so called friends and seniors that are not as transparent and employ one of the methods that Sakurada has described. I am not here to name names but want to clarify and avoid misperceptions. At the end of the day to each his own and do what you are comfortable with. I still maintain that the whole point of this activity is meant to be FUN and stress-free. Lets keep it that way!

Just to find out the charges but he chose to kept quiet and kept holified himself nere.Hope he doesn't short changed those bros who uses his services in Cp.

Lately has been a bit silent from the forum, life is a bit "busy" and no time to access to the forum...


Supposedly I shall leave dongguan on may 2, but things are a bit excited here and I extended my trip till may 6. Now in CA but will be moving to CP this afternoon and stay there for another 2 nights.

Got some interested stories (at least I feel they are) to tell, but a bit lacking of time… because after I back to sillyland in may 6, I will b coming to dongguan again may 8, and tentatively will stay till may 17. that will be my schedule for may.

For my trip in may, most likely the schedule will be:
May 8-9: CA
May 10-13: CP
May 14-17: CA

Maybe will have a short trip to Houjie in between, but things are flexible to change...

Any bros who are in dongguan during that period, feel free to contact me and if time permits can catch up for drinking (either CP, CA, HJ or HM).

And again, so sorry got no time to reply the pm n posted msgs, will do my best to "clean up" whenever I have time...

First, I must say, I am not "claiming", what I shared are real experience that happening to me. Second, by showing the bill does not mean things are transparent in China!!

Bro Sakurada pointed out the very good points, there are sooooooo many ways to show the bill in china! People can show you the bill before discount; getting the rebate or reimbursement after bill; getting the vouchers that can use as cash; and worse still, some ktv can give u the fake bill by adding those nonsense or adjusting the prices into the bill!

How many bros really know what is the table charge like the fruit plates, tissues n etc? By adding those things into the bill, it can easily up the bill for rmb 100-200.

So, someone can just show you a "nice" bill, for u to feel good, fair and transparent, but I hope next time bro u can be smarter. You can never get transparent in China!!!


BUT, what if, I tell u, no matter how much you drink, I will charge u at the fix rate? For example, rmb 300 for the red wines and rmb 400 for chives and again, no matter how much alcohols u consume, u r paying at that rate ONLY!

The rate will covered your drinking cost, kj fee, room charge n etc. What you have to pay is only your MM tips, and if u order additional foods like rice or noodles.

Isn't this certain and transparent enough? Instead of u have to keep wondering how much bottles u hv opened and keep the control.

For me, when I drink, I don't like to control, I like to go for full fun.

My recent experience was with bro Petrolheadsg. One of the night, we went to Jiayi for the farewell to one of my friend who have been staying in cp for months, but will be leaving cp for a period of time and tentatively will only be returning to cp end of this year.

We got close to 10++ MMs on our room (cant remember the exact number), just around 8pm we have started 7-8-9, n we were not drinking with the small cup, but those long glasses n small jugs! One losing game was equivalent to 3 small jugs!!! Drank until bro Petrolheadsg cannot take it and left the room before 10pm (n heard that his girl was drunk n spoiled his night... Hehehe, so sorry bro...).

The session continue till around 12am, on the last round of drinking, 1 of my girl also cannot take it... Two of us (me and my another girl) were challenging a group of 6 (1 men with 5 girls) by playing the bluffing game, until both parties agreed that time is late and we will continue the challenge again on the next gathering.

That night we have 6 bros in the room and we consumed 16 bottles red mines with mixers, but guess what, each of us only paid RMB 300 net! Again, that was included the red wines, mixers, kj fee, MM drinks n the room charge.


And again, being you believe it or not, I am not here to claim, I am here to share my experience.


Next time, when u go drinking in cp, if someone is showing you the bill and tell u those BS like "...because we have drank too much that is why the bill is high...", cut it out, pay not more than rmb 300 for red wines!

(by the way, to my personal preference, I like red wines than other alcohols like chives or beers)

There r 3 big organizer groups in cp/ca, Dubin (or XinGanXian) is one of them.

Dubin is a head of his group, a famous n busy guy, guess he have very little time to answer the questions... they do hv "departments" in their group, u may contact the right person to get the fast respond. for drinking matter, u may contact XiaoPang; Sauna: Long San; room booking: Jiajia.

alternatively, u may also contact or pm your bro me.

i hv the connections with most the groups in cp/ca, being small or big.
