Bro, a question to ask u. I used to travel to Xiamen once every 3 mths. Know most of the places in Xiamen, can consider Xiamen my 2nd home (I have an apartment in Xiamen). U guys talking abt these 'tea house'. Can I know where is it locate?? I never been 1 of them... I will be going China again this coming CNY. I still dunno which part of China depends on the ticket available. But will definitely stop by Xiamen n check out these tea house.

Dear Bro naemlo,

Honestly, I visited the Tea House about one and a half years ago. There are some near Bei Lu Zhou Lu, near the Hongdu Park Hotel. Turn right after you come out from the hotel.

This trip, I tried to locate the same tea houses, but failed to find them again. I am not sure what happened. My cousin told me that they were still such joints, but we did not try. He told me that businesses in tea houses were not very good as there was keen competition with the Saloon and Massage joints.. I am unable to provide the most up to date information. My sincere apology.

If I knew that you were a Lao Jiao in Xiamen, I would have consulted you. Read many of your posts in the Xiamen threads, but nowaday, I found more posts which look like exchanges of words/greetings than FRs.

Bro, me not lao jiao, just happen that I was there many times. I was very surprise to read from the forum that tea house also provide 'service'. I frequent teahouse, coffee cafe a lot in China but till now no such luck on this 'service'. Drinking tea with friends in China is a rest n relax past time during daytime. But night time it is 'wet n wild'. I should be in Xiamen this coming CNY. Let me go n explore the tea house. U meant 'Bai Lu Zhou' or 'Bei lu zhou lu'???

You are right. Old man not very good at Pinyin, because during my time, we did not learn. In fact, I learnt from the PRC meimeis. Yes, it is Bai Lu Zhou Lu when Hongdu Park hotel is situated. My cousin seems to know some of them, but during my stay, we decided to go to Xi Pu Lu to check out the Health Centres (I reported it in this thread), instead of tea houses because it was 2.00 am in the morngin.

I should be in Shanghai begining 22 Feb 2004. Old man needs to be at home for the children to greet me, and I need to distribute red-packets during Chinese New Year. Have a nice time in China. We shall meet one of these days. You can guess my movement from my postings. I can also PM you.

I was disappointed that I did not make it for the last gathering, bro SGP69 did call me but work commitment. After so many many years here, me still not 英雄 like all the other big bros here.

My Shanghainese comes from listening to staff talk and not as you may have assumed... its not really good as I cannot speak the language for nuts, unlike my brother Shengge..

Not as "jie kun" as you that's for sure... as I'm sure you have drank a lot more Shanghainese saliva than me (for obvious reasons of course, right?)

I don't have a Shanghainese GF... never had one... never will have.. why do you think that I'm telling horror stories of Chinese girls to warn other brothers? Maybe Shanghainese wives are different, but then I'll never know... maybe in my next life....
