First of all, I would like to thank all the educational posting by everyone in this forum especially Rainman, Moonface and Kiev.

Will be in Jakarta on business and will staying at Sheraton Bandara in Bandar Soekarno Hatta.

Any place to cheong near the Sheraton? massage or pickup joints? Any recommendations is much appreciated.

Dear Kepoh,

I played golf at Sheraton Bandara and had a massage after my 18 holes of golf. Costed +/-Rp.90,000 for one hour, but not special services. I think the management have a lid on their staff

Bad place to stay my friend....

Reasons being this area is a residential and Industry area thus do not expect any happening. In another word, it's actually a holy man's place.

However, U may want to know that the nearest place is in Pluit and it is very difficult to explain this area to u. Let me know how well u know Jakarta and maybe moonface and myself could assist.

Never been to Jakarta before. I have no idea where I am staying except that it is 3km from airport. Work for a KIASU company and they want us to stay close to the airport so that we can evacuate easily if something should happen in Jakarta

Was at Sheraton Badaran few nights back and god, was the place dead. Played pool at the bar from 1600 hrs till 2100 hrs and we were the only guest there. The waiter told us that the only guest there are mainly from the Airport and only some crowd once a week maximum.

Forget the evacuation shits. This is year 2002 and not 1998. They have changed three president since the last issue. This city is quite safe now.

instead of Sheraton Badaran, Check into Sheraton Media.

both Sheraton and the latter is much cheaper. It is 3 mon to China town.

Yes and take only Taxi with the word BIRD.

Blue Bird, Black Bird, Sliver Bird etc. they are very safe.

Would love to stay at Sheraton downtown but checked with my director's secretary and she said that our rooms are already pre-booked. Anyway if I take the the bird taxis, how long will it take me to go to a place with action

Ok, basically Bluebird Group consists of many taxi companies. As long as u see taxis with big sticker pasted across their windscreen with "Blue Bird Group", it should be safe.

As your hotel is f#@king near the airport, the driver might frown. Insist on the meter. I prefer to take Silver Bird though. It's those Black Nissan Cedric taxis. There's Golden Bird as well, but those are limousines which u can book once u stepped out of arrival hall at airport.

As for places to cheong? Hmmmm...just call your hotel concierge and get a taxi to Hayam Wuruk. Depending on your grip of Bahasa language, you can get chicks anywhere. But for safer place, go to Stadium at Hayam Wuruk lor!

Moonface, where are u? Someone needs advice leh!

Pre booked doesn't mean prepaid and ucan always change, if the other Sheraton is much cheaper, why not??

Guidance, traffic is quite bad in the evening as it is like the CTE in Singapore. PPL going home in the North.

Moreover, not too sure, gal want to follow u back all the way there...

3rd May??? maybe I would join u if moonface re surface.

Typical bureaucratic bullshit from secretaries! I have a feeling someone in the company is making heaps of under table money heaps of under table money by making us stay at Sheraton Bandara. Anyway, I have no choice but to stay there! Anyone interested, can meet up at Sheraton for pool and drinks and after that for some cheong session! Give it a thought anyway
