I can't agree with you more. I don't wish to waste time trying to figure out pseudo-English, again. I believe it is your sentiment too.

Moreover I don't even know I "godself cycle to Malaysia twice a week" with my wife. Maybe I sleepwalk... or sleepcycle rather.

Re: Gang-RaPED and beaten up in Johor

Rather than to go off topic with another topic about big shots and about something different, i will just stick to the original topic and find out perhaps how we, the small folks, can avoid such situations in future..

I'm sure many would have experience the warm hospitality of our neighbours as well as faced some negative episodes. It is only natural for there is no perfection of paradise where mortals live, only a strong desire and perseverance to strive for an ideal Utopia where all may one day live in peace.

I had my fair share of negative episodes, some episodes of which other folks would be more worse than mine and some not as bad, but do allow me to recount mine here.

On one occasion, after a night's out of wine and dinning with my clients in KL, I took a cab back to my company's apartment in serene and tranquail Chennai.

Somewhere along a deserted stretch near my destination was a roadblock operation conducted by the police to spot check on drunk drivers as well as illegal aliens. With only 2 cars infront of mine, when my turn came, i reached for my wallet and realized that i left my IC back at the office with my secretary who needed it to process some biz applications earlier and was not returned to me.

I was ordered out of the taxi, which fled immediately after being checked, by a plainclothes officer, presumably the commanding officer of the 5 men police uniformed team, whom were carrying shoulder slinged Heckler and Koch MP5 submachine guns each, leveled and ready for action.

The officer dragged me to a dark corner away from the main road whereby any car that comes along would not be able to see us. He told me of my offence but was willing to overlook the matter if i could 'generously provide a sufficiently acceptable solution'.

I knew his meaning, but just apologise for my offence and requested to call my country's consular officer to settle the matter, which he refused and snatched away my handphone and insisting that i do not blow up the situation over a simple amtter.

As it was late and i had a long day ahead at work in the next few hours, i withdraw RM100 from my wallet, all that was inside there and gave it to him.

He looked at me, who was dressed in a dining suit, and laughed menacingly. He then proceeded to conduct a physical search on me, which i had to co-operate as he called one of his gun wielding men, with the gun's safety catch off, to cover him. Reaching into my breast pocket, he withdrew my billfold of notes worth RM5,000 clipped neatly together.

He scolded me for lying to him that i had only RM100, then took out a RM50 note from my bundle of notes, changed it into RM10s with his underlings, and handed RM20 to me, saying " We are not heartless people. Malaysians are kind and merciful people. Here is RM20 for you to take a taxi home." while slipping the rest of my money into his pants pocket.

With that, not even bothering to take down my particulars, he rounded up his men and with hoots of laughter, drove away in their police cars into the misty night.

I could have easily made a grab for the skinny young punk of an officer, held him hostage and made the rest of the gun toting crew do my bidding and escape in their police car with a 4 hour lead headstart before their HQ would know what happened. Dont forget, most of us male Singaporeans had gone thru defensive trainning during our NS.

But it would do me harm than good for there were no witness that i was being robbed at gunpoint and denied my rights, and no authority would have believed my words against the that of the cops. Furthermore, no lives were at stake, making fighting back unnecessary.

With my jacket draped across my shoulders and a lighted ciggarette on my lips, as i walked the semi lighted and deserted lonely road up the hills back to my apartment, I was filled with disappointment.

Not with the loss of the money for it can be replaced, but of beasts hiding behind official uniforms, wearing symbols of authority sworn on oath to serve and to protect, held in trust by the population, but whom chosed use such authority, wielding weapons of destruction and power to abuse others.

It can be said that not ALL officers are like those i encountered, but that such an incident can happen in the capital city itself, with a confident commanding officer of a team of submachine gun wielding men, what more hope lies for the other provinces/states outside KL? And what other forms of corruption will they not dare commit?

Management is often top down and filled with a small cadre of executives at the top, pyramid shape, in command of the rest of the personnel filling the bottom. If within the top positions of executives where corruption and abuse of power exists, what more the 'follow instructions' supporting base of men?

As i was only a guest in that country, I made no complaints but moved on with my life, more cautiously.

However, if such an incident should happen in my country, I would not allow my fellow countrymen or guests to be subjected to such terror and abuse, for if it can happen to me, it may happen to others, and will fight tooth and claws to ensure those guilty apprehended, the police commissioner sacked and demand a thorough investigation into the police force, even if i were to be put behind bars out of spite by our independent judiciary for my offence of forgetting to bring my IC.

I would rather be incarcerated for doing something constructive that will benefit my fellow men as incarceration can only last a period of time, than to be imprisoned by my own guilt for doing nothing, which will last as long as i live.

Sorry for the long post. Take care.

ATTACKED... while petitioning for SAFETY
JB woman had just signed petition to curb violent crime
June 19, 2007

CONCERNED about the spate of rob-and-rape cases in her state, a Johor resident decided to sign a petition asking the police to bring safety back to the streets.

But just minutes later, she was ambushed by two parang-wielding robbers who tried to slash her in the arm. Fortunately, the blade just grazed past her.

Madam Yu, 33, ran screaming for help, and the robbers fled when they saw a man coming to her aid.

The attack occured on Saturday at 5.45pm when Madam Yu was leaving her friend's house, reported Sin Chew Daily.

Ironically, Madam Yu was there to sign a '100,000 signatures for peace' petition, part of a campaign organised by Chinese clans and residents to protest the recent wave of violent crimes in Johor.

As Madam Yu left her friend's house and made her way to her car, two robbers on a motorcycle approached her, waving a parang.

Madam Yu and her friend retreated to the house and tried to close the door, but the robbers drove the motorcycle into the front yard.

One of the robbers jumped off the motorcycle and ran after them with his parang.

Said Madam Yu: 'When the attacker swung the parang down, I ducked and felt it hit my right arm.

'Thankfully, it just brushed past and hit the door frame.'

Her friend's husband heard the two women's screams for help, and ran shouting into the living room.

The New Paper, 16 Jun 2006
Shocked to see a man in the house, the robbers fled the scene.

Both women were unhurt, except a small cut on Madam Yu's leg where she stumbled while rushing back into the house.

She said: 'I was actually going to take my 12-year-old son with me to my friend's house. Thankfully, he did not come along.

She said that the two attackers were dressed in black were in their 20s.

Madam Yu's ordeal comes in the wake of public outrage and anger over wave of the violent crimes in Johor in recent months.

The latest was last Monday's case, where a 19-year-old girl was gang-raped by three knife-wielding robbers after she and her 22-year-old boyfriend were car-jacked in Gelang Petah, near the Second Link.

Yesterday, about 200 irate residents gathered in front of the Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman's house to protest.

BOOED OFF STAGE

Johor Jaya state assemblyman Tan Cher Puk said: 'Since the gang rape, I've been bombarded with calls and SMSes from my constituents who are worried about the increase in violent crime.'

To date, the JBTF's petition collected some 6,000 signatures, while it has gotten some 22,000 signatures online over two days, reported New Straits Times.

During its anti-crime dialogue on Saturday, attended by some 2,500 people, hundreds booed and heckled a police spokesman who had been invited to speak by the JBTF.

DSP Leow Kian Heung, who heads the state crime prevention unit, cut his speech short and left.

On Friday, police arrested 14 suspects believed to have been involved in crime cases, including a 14-year-old girl.

Later that night, Shahabudin Mohamed Ariff, a former member of the Sagol Gang allegedly being behind the gang-rape of the 19-year-old, turned himself in to the police.

The 27-year-old, whose mug shot had been released by the police last week, had reportedly called New Straits Times to claim his innocence before going to the cops.

S'pore kidnap suspect caught in JB raid
June 19, 2007

A MAN who has been on Singapore's wanted list for 20 years has been caught in Malaysia.

He was detained in Johor Baru last week in connection with the kidnapping of a businessman's son there.

The Star reported that the man, who is in his 40s, and two other male suspects were arrested in a series of raids around Johor.

The raids took place after the 23-year-old victim was released when a ransom of RM600,000 ($267,000) was paid.

The wanted man is allegedly the mastermind behind the kidnapping.

Police also found a gun, bullets and an undisclosed sum of money.

State police chief Deputy Commissioner Datuk Hussin Ismail confirmed the arrest but declined to elaborate.

The kidnapping happened earlier this month when the victim was playing basketball with his friends in TamanMolek, Johor.

As the victim was waiting in his car with his friends, another car crashed into the back of his vehicle.

When the victim came out to inspect the damage, several men held him up at gunpoint before bundling him into his car and driving off.

The suspects then called the victim's family and demanded a RM1 million ransom.

Negotiations went on for about a week before the suspects finally settled for RM600,000.

The money was dropped off at an undisclosed location in Johor Jaya, and the victim was released unharmed along Pantai Lido.

A special CID team later managed to track down the suspects in Tampoi and Permas Jaya.

The man is said to be a hardcore criminal wanted in Singapore for committing several armed robberies.

He was also found to be 'high' on drugs when taken into custody. The trio have been remanded to assist in police investigations.

Police are still on the lookout for the remaining gang members.

Brother, like u, i will do whatever is necessary to stop crimes and get rid of these muderfarkers malaysian policemen. They are a menace and pain to society.

I was with my girlfriend in a garden in JB near Larkin at 10pm one day when two patrol malaysian policemen stopped us and demanded to bring us BACK to police station for " close proximity" ( we were just sitting close to each other )

Then they asked for money. na bei I gave them RM50. They say they dont want ringgit. fuckers really. I gave them S$100 ( S$50 each ) as I was young and serving NS and dont want any trouble.

All these useless mudder farkers.

Bro, one thing I've learnt from my constant dealings with "Dogs" that block me is that if you are more confident then they are..they prob don't want to take the hassle of the issue blowing up on their face.

I'm constantly stop for my car being tinted..mind you I've had it tinted and approved by JPJ..but they still stop me. One time they (in a squad) stopped me for no apparent reason..and after checking my license and also road tax, I heard the officer said "Macam mana, road tax lesen pun ada?" to his partner which means "How? Road tax and license also got"

The office tried to talked to me, i put my window down a bit and ask "What you want...want to saman give saman lar" then i shut my window,,he also lan lan just give me back my license and ask me to drive off.

One time at the end of the north south highway want to turn off to tebrau highway, few junior officers conducted roadblock,,i see only know they "cari makan"...stopped me saying i was going fast, i said you got camera,,,saman me now and then i go look at the photo...then he said he give me saman now...$300 bucks, then he said 300 bucks very expensive..how..want to help, i said no need your help, want to saman then saman, also stand a bit closer then i took out a pen and started writting his office number..he said what am i doing and covered his number, i said taking down your number what else...he then said you cannot do that...I said why cannot,,you can take my number I cannot take yours?? He also lan lan give me back my license.

Sometimes,,you have to be more "Geng" then them,,but only when you know you are in the right lar
