My friend just wrote me that a girl was found dead in a room of Newton Hotel on Sunday morning.
Incredibly, she says that nobody knows if she was killed or she was dead alone (maybe drug?), and that they don't know the name of who paid the room.
I cannot believe this. I looked for the news on news sites, but I found nothing.
Anybody knows more about this?

Newton Hotel Room 330. Found dead inside toilet.
She was found to be alone and water tap running.
At first check in is room 328, later shifted to room 330

Heard this news yesterday, just found out is indo chinese from your post.
Also heard that her customer hook up with her in P2 hall and bring her to hotel room.

Since there is mentioning of Murder case in Batam Hotel,it prompted me a couple of questions as below,in hope for some answers :

1. During my 1st virgin trip to Batam on V day,upon 1st entering the hotel room,i notice my girl actually knocked on the hotel room door after i open it before entering. Was wondering if there is a reason for it? i also follow her knock on the door before fully enter.

2. Is there any known hotels or hotel room known to be haunted?

3. Anything to watch out for regarding this type of "haunting" when cheonging Batam? Precautions? etc etc..

4. Is the Toa Peh Kong Temple far from any of the Jetty? Is it the only temple in Batam?

I read thru page 1000 onward and did not have answers to my questions above,hence i asked. Sorry for sounding so ignorant. But the least i want to is to spend a night with a hantu (supernatural being aka ghost) beside me in a room,worse still...bring it back to Singapore with me.

Not sure but in think knocking on hotel door when checking in is a Chinese thing. I do it when staying bin hotel not only in btm.

Cause its like telling if any. That you are here to stay for few days and no disrespect.

Anyway don't think too much abt this and enjoy the trip. Becomes more of a habit now then na culture.

Actually, ghost exist in all hotels. A simple knock on the door is a reminder to them that you are here to stay for the night. Everyone is sharing the same space, just a different dimension, if to say so.

So far no problems if does that when I stay in hotels.
