Back from my short trip in HCM and thought about sharing my experience like I did recently for another trip to Yangon - feel free to check my misadventures over there in the dedicated thread! I am happy to say this time I managed to get some happy time!

First, as I posted earlier in this topic, my 4 star hotel did not allow guests after 9pm so I had to work out a plan B.
I decided to book another room in a 2 star hotel near APO. It was cheap, like S$30, so I decided to get it anyway, just in case I could find a partner for a short time. Not sure if any hotel there offers a transit rate? More experienced bros may suggest a better and cheaper way to solve the guest issue, I guess.

Anyway, back on track with my story. As I started walking around the area in the evening, I realized it was just impossible for a handsome single guy like me to walk like 10m without being asked by some lady to join for a massage! As it usually happens when prostitution and any form of sexual services is illegal, they just goes underground to emerge everywhere in different forms all around!

Anyway, first stop I wanted to go was to the famed 29 Dong Khoi but to my disappointment I couldn't find anything there. Was it shut down recently? If so, any information I found online seems quite outdated or, maybe, it was just me to be blur blur and I missed the place.
I walked for 49 Dong Khoi and I found some lounge at a second floor at that address. This may still be working as expected but for some reason i decided to head straight to APO. I have to say I was a bit disappointed there like I was for Pioneer in Yangon a few weeks ago. No action at all. Granted, I was there early (like 9.30pm) but it was a saturday evening so I would have expected some signs of life anyway. Got a beer and left after about 30 minutes with nothing else to look at than a sexy waitress who was yawning half of the time.

I thought of heading for Smiley Bar next but then a sexy milf in the street in front of APO got my attention: heavy makeup, likely 40+ but with a pair of slender legs that would still make much younger girls envious.
So, as i walk nearby she stops me and asks if I want massage with pretty ladies plus extras in the spa nearby. I cut the chase and say I want to boom boom and she asks if I BYOC - bring you own condom - after my affirmative reply she said I could bring a girl of my choice to my hotel room for 1h for 1.5 million dong (500k massage + 1m FJ). Bingo! I follow her and 4 ladies aged late 20s/early 30s showed up. Average to slightly above average looking but still quite pleasant to my eye. I ended up with a 30 year old milf who caught my attention with a cute smile, but her pair of very attractive C cuppers also had an influence on my choice too!
In the end, having booked the extra room was a good choice because it seemed not possible to have FJ at the spa premises even if you BYOC.

Hope this can help some fellow newbie in roaming the APO area in HCM!

To all Bros going to HCM first time or going solo,
Found this article from another forum. Pls be aware even if using Grab app.

Booked a Grab car as I did not feel like taking a bike. A driver arrived after about 5 mins claiming that his friend, with whom I booked the Grab, is busy so he was the replacement driver sent along by his friend to fulfill the booking.

Soon after I got in, he asked me for 10K to buy water for himself. I then took the cash from my wallet. While I was looking for a 10K note, he quickly grab the stash of cash from my hand offering to help. But I believe It was then that he took 300K from me without me noticing it. Apparently, this was typical crime that happened everyday in HCMC - a foreigner not very sharp with the currency and getting robbed in various scenarios.

Obviously I did not get to my KS as he has no intention whatsoever of driving me there. He asked me to get off because he has an emergency as his wife is about to give birth. Altogether I was in this bogus driver's car for no more than 10 minutes.

The bogus driver knew exactly the position where I was waiting for my booking, right down to the last meter, I believe there are only 2 ways this could have happened - Grab App has been "hijacked" by criminals or the bogus driver was working in concert with the Grab driver to con unsuspected passengers

By the way, you guys should also pay attention that there are touts working outside the international arrival area of the airport trying to offer Grab services. What I have been offered is the following - they will show you the Grab App in their phone and say they will book the Grab for you knowing that you may not have data connection. They will then book the Grab to the desired destination as per usual on their phones BUT will cancel the booking soon after. They will then call THEIR OWN CARS to drive around to pick up the unsuspected passengers.

1- book another room
2- check in with her
3 - go into room before 8pm

In the first place, you shouldn't have given him whatever he requested. Secondly, Never show them the stash of CASH in your wallet or pocket. Always split your money and put them into different pockets.

No matter what, die die must buy prepaid sim card. When they cancel it, do not pay them. worst come to worst, pay them abit and not the full amount. Just ignore them and book another grab. I have no issue with grab drivers in HCMC. Maybe you look like Mr.Robert to them.

Lastly, always know the number for SG embassy in hcmc. Call them if need help.
