My experience was using the private limo service is quite fast. You will clear HK customs in the limo so dun have to get down. There usually be a service staff asking if you want private limo after you pass China customs. Rate I paid was RMB 180 (if I remembered correctly).

My experience is that from HKIA to Shenzhen by limo is OK as customs to China is not crowded. But coming back from Shenzhen to HK, especially by road and on a friday, you will have to allow more time to clear customs. The last time when i went through on Friday lunchtime, it took me 1 hour at the border. Suggest you allow 2 hours being stuck in customs jsut in case on Friday evening.

Well, I spent my day time sightseeing ( or in this case, chilling in a spa ), and only start hunting after dark, which at this time of the year is 5:30pm. When I was wondering around Jiabin (嘉宾) and Chun Feng (春风） Rd in broad daylight, no one approached me.
After dark, OKTs approached me about once every 10-15 mins, whether on the main road or small streets. It's funny how they would jio you ( although discreetly ) even though the 公安 (police) is standing only a few meters away. I'm sure the police close one eye to all this until orders to crackdown come from above.
As for shazhui, I just alighted at the intersection of 沙嘴路 and 福强路. It wasn't a pre-determined location that I found through research. I chose that area simply because it was easy to tell the taxi driver. Since I didn't know the area, any place would be fine for a start to jalan jalan.
