practical case of use & dump..wonder why the woman want to give birth to that kid also.if she's really thinking for the child, she will know that its impossible for the child to grow up in a normal family with father and mother...probably just gonna use as a tool to get money...cheap..now the child will just become one more member of the unwanted...

That shows why wc must be abolished. Feel like it somehow may have pervertly destroyed the man but at the same time making the woman become greedy, encouraging more divorcing n destroyed the kids, created more social problems. Quite ze ar.

This thread is so timely. I have a friend who is in a situation and needs help. What does she need to do to get support for her child?

I first came to know Rina when she turn up for work as a beer promoter in our coffee shop. She was from Penang and had just finished schooling and came to Singapore to look for work. She ended joining her cousin and became a beer promoter. That was in 2002 when she was only 18 yrs old. After working for a few months she became very friendly with a regular customer and he offered to bao her as his mistress. He was a married man with 2 girls. She agreed and became his mistress. She stopped working and he rented a house for her in JB where she lived and he would visit her every other day. This went on for several years until Rina became pregnant with his child in 2010. The guy told Rina he cannot divorce his family and initially told her to abort the baby. Rina did not agree and the guy later changed his mind when he found out that the baby is going to be a boy. He told Rina to birth the baby and he will support his son's upbringing.

The baby was born in 2011 and for the 1st few months the guy provided the financial support. Then one day he told Rina to bring the baby back to her hometown in Penang as his wife had found out about them and he cannot visit them in JB anymore. He assured Rina he will continue to send money to her in Penang which he did for another year. Then the money stopped coming and he refused to answer Rina's calls. Rina relied on her savings all this while and as she has not been working since returning back to Penang, her money is running out. Also her son is now 4 yrs old and she wants him to go to school here in Singapore as his father is a Singaporean.

How can Rina get her son's father to provide financial support for his son?
What does Rina need to do to start proceedings in the courts here?

Hire a lawyer, sue in court. If can't afford, get free legal aid. Nt easy for her to DIY.

She is a Malaysian citizen. Can she eligible to apply for legal aid?

It'll of cos Look bad if the son wants money just 2 study in spore only n will be Malaysian permanently. I recall if t son benefit from spore education until sec school, he's liable to serve NS n serve liao may not b spore citizen ok.

A few k for laywer la. Bt of cos if she dun know where t fuck t laopeh go hide & he deny he's t father etc, then will cost more la. Hope t birth cert got signed by him that he's t dad.

Do the same thing the Shanghai hostess did, get it in the news or report police. Singapore so small, any small bit of info can smoke him out. Once got court order, dna test will prove.
Hope this guy is rich cause he's going to have to pay two allowances every month.

1st thing to note that this is a civil case and will be costly to bring a suit against the man. Having said tat, there are lawyers who do pro bono if they empathize with her case.

Anyway, lawsuit is the last resort. Imho, she can contact him and liaise with him to support her and the child(maintenance or lump sum) as he has to consider how his family, relatives, friends, jobs, etc will be affected if the news goes public(as in a civil suit and/or newspaper/social media).

Best wishes to ur friend in settling this.......hopefully it can be done amicably.

Your friend had better think it through before starting any court action as the boy's father may decide to fight back for the custody of his son.
