Hi Bros, my recommendation, those wine outlet along Demsey Road. I been to one resturant there, this was the place where the old Junior Flying Club used to be. The wine selection is good and the mood is fantastic, I love sitting outside to eat and drink.

After that, can just drive further in and carry on with round two. The whole road is yours. Happy hunting.

went there for drinks with frens b4 (no its not Alkaff which anthr bro mentioned). ambience great. after that u can still bring yr gal to a quiet spot to view scenery n do wat u want.

but best to have yr own vehicle lor. i thk its not easy to catch or book a cab. or else take cable quite ex i guess.

yea this is a very nice place. very quiet, quite secluded i would say ... not many ppl know this place if not for some reviews in mag n papers.

But this place is very near to Fortune Ctr n FLS hor. so if u r a chiongster who frequent ard d area better avoid. wait may bump into yr regular TN gal ...

If I am not wrong, Alkaff Mansion is no longer in Biz.
But I got another place to intro, the Vanilla Pod Restaurant & Bar, it is located at Mandai Orchid Garden, 200 Mandai Lake Road, Singapore 729827.

The place is nice but I am not so sure about the hunting place to go after dine. Unless you hit those small lanes around that around as I dun think there are any hotel around.........

hi all,

dunno if its stil there. There is this fine dining restaurant inside Botanic Garden called Halai. (cant reali remember the name le.)

Its situated on top of a pond and the atmosphere there is fantastic. used to go there often but nvr being there for almost 4 yrs le so dunno stil there anot.

(dun zap mi for providing outdated info k. (^_^)>)

For fine dinning, can try Top of the M, they served very tasty Italian dishes, red wines r exp but r of good grade, ambience is perfect as lighting by candles and u can enjoy city view.

For wine, can try those outlets along upper bukit timah road towards CCK, weekend nites r esp. packed.

Allow me to share some experiences. My gf is like a Continental car, consumes 'petrol' a lot. (Heavy monetary investment required). I've brought her to Equinox for dinner once. The view is good (70th storey so can't be bad). The food was ok but the service sucks. The waiters are not friendly or professional in my opinion. What I feel is that perhaps my hair colour is wrong. (Black) Simple dinner cost $300 for 2. Got ang mos bring 'prostitute looking' girls at next table.

A good place I will recommend is St Julien. It's located at Merlion Park(where the old merlion is). Food is great, view not bad(private), service is fantastic. Got ang mos at next table too but it's a totally different world altogether. Very memorable. It won 'Restaurant of the Year 2005' from the Tatler or some reputable magazine. Around $250-400 for 2 pax for dinner.

Not sure if they still do this but try their baked fish. It's a whole fish baked in dough. A bit like the Beggar's chicken concept for chinese food. They cover the whole fish in dough, then let it bake in oven. When they break the mould to reveal the fish, it's very fragrant and nicely done. Foie Gras is great too here.

My experience at Equinox is rather good compared to yours. The view is definietly wat we paid for, the food is so so only, the service is average.

Tat place is famous for high end business ppl bringing escorts for makan and later fxxx.

For me, it got to be Shiro, which does daily imports. Wonderful jap food. A great experience, get a sake to top off probably a set meal. Btw, please call to reserve.
