That was also the time when his hair was shorter, his body was leaner & his pace was still traceable ... I'm still very convinced that he'll be like another Eric Meijer, coincidentally also from Bayer Leverkusen (if I'm not wrong).

What can I say about this man.
Most hardworking striker in the RED shirt I ever seen and his workrate number one. However can't say much about his strike rate. Think didn't manage score any league goal before.

I'd still give Voro a chance; he's not that old as you make him sound lah. Some things improve with age and other things, like passion, you don't lose.

i dunno but never have much faith in this spanish players...always seems to perform well in their own league but every time cross over to EPL, some how seems to crumble..Morientes is one clear example...simply love that guy when he was in Real and Monaco (I think) in particular his accuracy in heading but when he sign up with Pool, he just didn't cut it...and also thou i haven't seen much of the primera liga matches, i think the spanish players prefer the ball at their feet rather then the long and high passes game that Pool seems to be synonymous with now a days..

yupz...its the same damn reason why spain doesn't go very far in the world cup. by itself and contained in its own pond its skilful, artful and technically sound.

i was actually quite happy that rafa's also taking chances with unproven players. maybe it wasn't by choice, but the thing is, nobody really knew about berbatov before he went to spurs either.

so i do believe sometimes its about giving a shot. nothing to lose with a free transfer anyway.

so in fact itz not really a big gamble.

My perosnal analysis on why Liverpool, to date have not signed any players?

1) After the takeover, everyone is seeing Liverpool as a pot of gold

2) They are virtually lonked up with every big players

3) Now, thy are creating stories telling tales that Manager Rafa will not be getting any huge funds so other clubs cannot hold Liverppol by the neck (carrot head) asking for crazy $$.

4) Liverpool might be signing player not mentioned yet. Players mentioned like Eto'o, villa might be just a smokescreen to divert attention away

Talking about world class players such as Eto'o & Henry,any club have to pay crazy money in order to get them,not just LFC.
Judging from the fact that our four spine players have signed their new 5 years contracts, good news should be out soon,fingers crossed.

Yup, sometimes looking at what some fans are complaining about, it seems a year has passed while waiting to make a transfer.

I don't think it's easy to tie up the big names quickly at all, even if we have the cash for the transfer fee. There is the wage structure to consider. Many players are also not keen to come to Liverpool the city (cf. London).

Let's just wait and see
