Totally agreed... IMHO budget airlines are full of sales gimmicks... total price not a lot cheaper... somemore not so "song"... will only take budget airlines if going for 1 days as the fares are e-tickets on other airlines are min. 2 days.

somemore budget airlines always flight delayed... haizz...

IMHO

I have travelled Air Asia (both times bahts 499 each way plus taxes & insurance) twice to Bangkok and Tiger Air (S$1 each way plus taxes and insurance) once all this since July this year and never had a single delay nor was there any "gimmick."
The promos delivered what they advertised so I am not complaining.

Have you?
Otherwise, perhaps, your comments may not be fair?

Regular airlines do respond against budget airlines as well as between themselves from time to time and the result is competition which is good for us.

Without budget airlines, we would not get these bargains so we have them to thank for this;

we can enjoy the results in the meantime before some of the budget airlines go bankrupt and then, no more such bargains.

Re: Air Tickets in BKK

Don't bother taking Air Asia! It is not worth it! The prices are so much higher! The only time it is worth it is when they are on promotion but even then it is only on week days mostly.

hi Bro,
Things have changed quite a bit recently, I used to book airasia with my dbs card airasia card for about 5 occasions and am delighted withe fares and on-time-departure. but things have taken twist now. Flights are delayed and the stench from the seats are gettin quite unbearable, though I am not the fussy kind. AA's preventive maintenace is suspect with just few months in running operations. Maybe, stretching their current fleets of turbines too much, causing breakdowns in-between flights and needing time for fixes to their machines.

Now I switch to SAS or Finnair, price is cheaper.
one case study Eg. flights to BKK, enquiry@last week for this Thurs Hari Raya flight; Air asia $220 (include tax), Finnair $169 (include tax, Wed nite flight) and SAS $189 (include tax for Thurs nite flight).

Any lobangs here for cheap tics, pls shout out loud in this forum !!!! Thanks Bros...

You can try Tiger Air if you are a member of the UOBTigerAir Gold Card
It cost S$28 for one way and back also S$28, or you can try Cathay I think the promo is still on, it is S$128 return.

Yes, alot of change. I took AAs Johore to BKK flight(2 way) no problem then, only RM$226.99 taxes included. Will never get this kind of price in Spore because of the 3rd party costs, saved on Spores exp airport+GST+war tax, around $70. Unfortunately, currently JB to BKK flights not being offered by AA.

Spore airport+GST+war tax is like the maid levy. Govt gets more than the maid & airlines! For those going to Batam, will notice that the ferry terminal tax at WTC has been increased from $3 to $5, same same.
