Here is simple calculation goes: Assuming 4 pax going, and you paid about 800 for 2 bottles red wines + mixers (so called package). If you go yourself, table charge is about 150, 2 packages (red wines + mixers) are 400, plus DJ 200, that will make up about 800 rmb also. Of course you should include GST in the calculation but at the same time you can as for bill discount, that will enough to waive away the GST. And if you order additional 3 pakages, xgx charge at 360; if you order yourself, that will be about 430; the saving is not significant. additionally, although you are the light drinker, but you are still having the uncertain risk if any team member or MM is the heavy drinker. what for sure will bullish your bill!!!  You should get the better package from them.  (and to my experience, 90% sillyporean/malaisian does not like china white wine)

金朗 Hotel is new, no painting smell.
9th floor has transparent glass wall toilet with no curtain. U can watch shower show by yr mm since she has no where to hide. But if u hv the habit of leaving toilet light on at night, susah a bit. Hotel provide dvd machine upon request, foc with a refundable deposit of rmb 300. Breakfast for 2 is complimentary and come in set meal. Acceptable quality at this price. Safe deposit can be requested if none in the room. All rooms internet ready. No CNBC, no fridge/hairdryer (certain rooms) as of 10/1/08. Walk in rate or through XGX is the same, except guests of XGX do not have to pay room/dvd deposit. I believe XGX throws in some free gifts to their guests during off peak period (i.e. CNY). I saw one funny looking barber shop opposite the hotel, no idea is it the real barber shop or something else. However, the famous roast chicken restaurant is only a few minute’s walk from the hotel. One good thing abt this hotel is the free shuttle van, always available. If u dun mind some walking exercise, this hotel is value for money.
