wahh.... I believe we all felt sorry for the couple. But some people, like me, felt anger and frustration, esp the police did nothing to help. The kind of damage being done is far beyond that we can imagine.

But what we know is Johor or many areas in other countries are not safe to be in. Singapore is only low crime but not no crime. Not to mention unreported crimes. What we can do is to avoid the areas to put ourselves under unnecessary risk. But we cant condemn its people for the crimes the "bad" ones had committed.

Because the government will need to do something about it. But trust me, unless the government feel the pressure like economy being affected or from other government, otherwise I think the government will like some of us.... pretend nothing and carry on and on.....

Just my thoughts. So no point arguing over this issue cos' it pointless. Everyone is free to give their comments and opinions here but be a bit sensitive to others.... sometimes your reckless comment may hurt others.

I think Farang's comment is really uncalled for, it biased. I think most Singaporeans have relatives, friends who are Malaysians. But anyway, to condemn a whole nation just because of some black sheeps is unjustifiable.

I believe there are many uncracked and unjustified cases like rape and sexual offenses in a "kiow tow" country.Singaporeans should understand what im trying to say..!The culprit are always "kiow tow"..why? in our vehicles.....we travel in a group of 6 ppl...armed with a baseball bat and a 1 m sugarcane ..nicely ...sharpen at both ends.kept in the cars!.why?For self defense and combat against scenarios in case we are attacked by malaysians at nite for robbery.!Malaysia can be a very terror with syndicates..but we always keep alert to watch out for any unexpected scenes...Never bring spore galfriend
to malaysia for dinner at nite ..especially whereby u nvr know u will be tailed by culprits..!

Bringing the thread back to its topic. Having a Malaysian relative really puts me into a different prespective. Previously I am like some Singaporeans who curse and swear at Malaysia and Malaysian. But now, I actually pity them. They are like an old pair of leather shoes. The government try to pretty up the country by putting on new gloss shine, using leather patches to cover up the cracks and age, but they did not do anything about the insole and leather lining.

Furthermore, being a Johorean, my relative says a lot fo crimes are actually commited by overstayers, and illegal immigrants. The actual crime commited by local gangs are not as high as a lot of people believe.

Singaporean will always be Singaporeans. We like cheap stuff and like to critise other people. For my case, I just listen, read, give my neutral comments and move on. What has happen, had already happened. We cannot do anything about it, but hopefully we can be in the position to lend a hand should such things happen again instead of swearing at each other...

Some people are still kids here actually.. i mean, what else do u expect the person's maturity to be when he or she actually labelled all malaysians as "criminals" ?

it just shows that they have not encountered malaysians personally. majority of malaysians are actually more well-mannered and friendly than Singaporeans.

Too bad Malaysia is now controlled by a bunch of hardcores criminals. The police is rather like security guards nowadays doing nothing much but driving around in their air-con waja waiting to knock off only.

Actually, half of my friends are malaysians and even the girls up north do not dare to go out late at nights.

never being a singaporean girl up north. singaporean girls are renowned ( even those with degrees or masters ) to be slow and no common sense.

they will definitely be raped easily.
