Reputation lah brother. They don't want their hotel to have the stigma of a whore joint. You see Mulia - The stigma is there, a pick-up joint. Acutally the only point is the disco and the gers there are mainly "hang - overed type" , meaning lau goh.

My first visit to Tropical Spa was a wonderful and challenging experienced.

Wonderful why? - Tropical Spa located in the vincinity of Roxy Mas turned out to be better than I expected. Although the place looked a little "old" from the outside, it was generally a comfortable place to be.

Challenging why?

I arrived at the place after a 30mins ojek ride - the ojek was cutting in and out of the infamous Jakarta traffic jam. A harrowing experienced for someone like me who come from a land of many "FINE". I took the ojek from Ambassador Mall.

Walked straight through the door and was told to remove my footwear and shown to a changing room. I was given a locker that was next to the reception table. I have to get my strip act very fast as each time someone opens the door they can glimpse the activities at the nearest locker. Anyway was given a black short which was without a fastening string and grossly oversized. Requested for another short but was given a similar one by the mas attending to me. Sabar sabar (patience patience), decided to slip on the one I was given earlier and regretted as I later had to climb a flight of stairs to the next level. Anyway, one hand held onto the short and the other hand steadied myself until I arrived at the main reception area. It was dimmly lit and I quickly found a relaxing chair and was immediately attended to by the mas.I booked a massage - as I was new, the mas introduced No. 30 NAFA from Palembang. Very chatty and friendly - unfortunately with my little indonesian vocabulary, I couldn't really grasp or attempt a decent conversation. Anyway I was also tired and closed my eyes while enjoying my massage.I guessed I slept.

That short period at Tropical Spa have rejuvenated me to write a short note on the place. It is a decent place to be at, it was not crowded (maybe it was a saturday), they have a large cosy lounge where you can relax and enjoy the place. NO "mummies" disturbing you every now and then. NO major distraction although they have local FL available. I must say the local FL are of high standard and priced decently.

Pak Aguan although we have not met face to face, but I must say your place have standard. Cosy and decently priced. Some feedbacks though, please look into the attire for the massage. The celanas need to be rethread.

As what Mac'Arthur said when he left the Philippines, I SHALL RETURN so SHALL I Pak Aguan. I hope to meet you personally.

I have been reading the prevous posts and definitely agree that Jakarta is boring without the knowhows. I was there several times from last year till now but could not spot any happenings as I am there only in the day and fly off the same day ussually.

This time round, i will be there for 2 nights and do hope that any experience bros can pm their contacts or give me a tip or two on where is the best place to go which is straight to the point (like spa etc.) Are most of the gals there ceweks or chinese available too? Also saw some threads on ang-mos like russians etc. But i am willing to explore and really hope for a good advise on which is the no.1 place to try for first timers, also for the benefits of other noobs like me.

Best is if can meet up one of the experience bros for a local "tour"!

To set the record straight, contrary to popular belief, General Douglas MacArthur did not say that as he escaped from his island fortress of Corregidor in March 1942 in the face of the conquering Japanese Army. The President of the United States ordered me to break through the Japanese lines and proceed from Corregidor to Australia for the purpose, as I understand it, of organizing the American offensive against Japan, a primary objective of which is the relief of the Philippines. I came through out of Bataan and and I shall return.

He returned in October, 1944 at the head of the Allied Forces in Leyte Island and freed the Philippines from Japanese control.
