Re: Manchester United's Headliners, Articles and Rumours
Now that JM is gone.... the next a-hole to be sacked should be Woodward.
Thereafter, hopefully MBS buys MU and get rid of the blood sucking Glazers who bought a cash rich club and turned it into a debt ridden one. We have hit rock bottom..... only way forward is to go UP. For that, we need at least 20 months. Cheerz AC

Re: Manchester United's Headliners, Articles and Rumours
Next manager....
Zinedine Zidane The former France international is currently out of work after leaving Real Madrid last summer following the victory over Liverpool in the Champions League final. Remarkably, that was his third triumph in the competition in only two and a half years in charge. Is unlikely to join a club until next summer, which could suit United. Mauricio Pochettino Pochettino is highly regarded at Old Trafford after his superb work at Southampton and Tottenham. The former Espanyol and Paris St-Germain defender joined Spurs in 2014 and has finished fifth, third, second and third in his four seasons in charge, bettering United’s league position in two of those seasons despite operating on a much smaller budget. Antonio Conte The Italian had a remarkable impact at Chelsea, winning the Premier League title in his first season in charge, having effectively replaced José Mourinho as the club’s manager (Guus Hiddink took over as caretaker manager in 2015-16). Chelsea also reached the FA Cup final in 2017, but they lost to Arsenal and Conte’s relationship with the players deteriorated during this second season in charge. He left the club last summer with one year left on his contract and is unlikely to take a new job until the summer. Eddie Howe The 41-year-old has impressed in his two spells at Bournemouth, taking the club into the Premier League during the second one and establishing them in the top division. His attack-minded brand of football would suit United too with an emphasis on speed and high pressing. Former France and Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc is the bookmakers' favourite to be installed as the temporary boss for the rest of the season. |

Re: Manchester United's Headliners, Articles and Rumours
Pochettino would be my first choice for me... but now mid season so would be a tough 1 to crack
Next choice is Zidane which is out of job currently... Personally to me sacking mourhino was a bad move at mid season... why can’t they wait till the season end? They expect the new manager come in and win the title or champion league? Who are we kidding right? And the current batch of player playing for themselves and not for the team... Next to go which I am praying hard will be Woodward

The caretaker manager can also try new ideas, which Mourinho seemed to be running out of. And I think fans all want Woodward out as well... but not likely under the Glazers cos Woodward is a finance guy who has kept the $$ coming in and stock price high. My personal choices, in order of preference: Diego Simeone - has been managing Atletico Madrid since 2011 and actually broke RM/Barca's dominance to win La Liga and run both of them close on another ocassion (finishing 3rd despite amassing 88 points). He also won two Europa Leagues and got them to two CL finals. I especially like that he did so while losing star players like Falcao (who was still playing well at the time), Costa, Courtois, etc - and has shown longevity and loyalty. Currently 3rd (on goal diff only), 3 pts behind leaders Barca. Mauricio Pochettino - has the experience in the premier league and managed to make Spurs a team capable of challenging for the title, despite having a scrooge of a boss like Daniel Levy. Has all the potential but just a small gripe that he hasn't actually won anything. His win ratio with Spurs is 56.4 - still below Mourinho's 58.3 with Utd. Zinedine Zidane - great record he might have with 3 consecutive CL titles and a La Liga title, but he inherited a squad brimming with superstars and an in-form CR7. It is also a very short career and I am not entirely convinced he can sort things out at Utd. His abrupt quitting also counts against him, but one can hardly blame him with a boss like Florentino Perez who fires coaches even after they win La Liga. He might be the man-motivator that Utd exactly needs right now, but then he might not be and he has not shown he can build a squad from (almost) scratch. Antonio Conte - won the league title and FA Cup in two seasons with Chelsea. Has premier league experience and proven he can win, especially after inheriting a squad from Mourinho... Strict disciplinarian like Fergie was, and no lack of passion pitchside. Perhaps a good choice as caretaker manager. Steven Gerrard - leading Glasgow Rangers to the title...... just kidding lah... wahahahaha....

Re: Manchester United's Headliners, Articles and Rumours
Club legend, but quite a risk. Means we may well be giving up fighting for 4th place.
