Unfortunately, there are injuries left over from Wed's game ... Luis Garcia (hamstring) & Xabi Alonso (knee & ankle), though there's also talk that the latter has recovered sufficiently to play.

I think Rafael Benitez should made at least one changes to the side that beat Bordeaux in midweek.

Bolo Zenden should come into the team for Luis Garcia.

Pennant on the right and Zenden on the left which leave Gerrard to play in his best position...in the middle.

Sometimes Rafa's "learning" is also due to the (limited) personnel he has. He has to fit what he has into the system he's using. Unless he was given a free rein money-wise to buy the type of players he needed.

For eg, so many criticized him for the lack of wing-play but then who do you expect him to slot into the wings? Seriously most of the liverpool players can't cross from the wings!! The crossings were awful!

But now, we r starting to see players like Gonzales, Aurelio, and even Pennant running down the channels.

Lol, midfielders life always not easy, loads of responsibilities. They have to fetch the ball forward, to defend against or tackle the opposing team, to score or assist the strikers to score and hence making them amongst the most valued members of a team if they're good at it. In essence, a good midfield must possess the ability to be combative whilst also being creative.

My pick is Harry Kewell.

Just hope he'll recover and get back fast.

Then we'll have another potential natural winger

For the fact that we haven't won any away EPL game this season,wondering
what the scoreline would be if our tie with Reading was away & played later after that two heart pulsating London derbies ?
Smaller clubs must have been inspired by last night's results & our players better be more mentally prepared to fight against them.
We also have to change their mentality that we can beat big four teams away from home,start from Arsenal first !

yup wingers r a dying breed,but most defences r able to counter natarual wingers nowadays,i dont think u really need a natural winger,look at r.keane he gave p.ferriera hell n contined to torment the cannibal.jol got it spot on by playing him wide left.anyway with arsenal n chelsea losing,hopefully the reds will put a winning run together n move up the table.
