What you need to do is to apply a social visa for me in order for her to apply a Long Term Social Visit Pass when she's in Singapore. Den she's with you, go and apply a LTSVP for her and wait for ICA to approve / reject your application. She will be given a month grace to stay while waiting.

The Banker Guarantee/Cashier Order is issued from any major 4 banks, address to Comissioner of ICA for guaranteeing her stay by you, as her Local Sponsor. It looks like a cheque.

i getting abit confused..to summarise what i understand,
since she a Thai,i sure no need apply social visa right?when she come in ,ICA give 14 days,so in this 14 days,i go apply LTSVP with her(after ROM)
so when at ICA,they will give me a month period to wait,(hopefully will get approve,if not approve then go back sibeh sian)

Your advice is of little help to this guy until he can support himself and then his wife and kid. And he should because the economy is good. Everyone should be able to get a job. Maybe not a high paying job. And there is nothing wrong with being a farmer's daughter. Heavens, I'm a farmer's grandson !!! He should get the woman and kid over. And if she can't get use to the life here and wants to leave, at least he gets to know it sooner rather than later.

I think he should be ok financially; sort of volunteer to leave becoz of wanting to start own biz and get fat severence package; the kind that can migrate elsewhere with the money. Quite well-to-do type.

I listed that point because I read he need to be contributing income tax (to get better chance applying PR for his wife) which he have not been doing since leaving the job almost 1 year ago.

Once she's attained the SPR, the letter will "states that she's eligible to apply for citizenship after 2 years for ICA's consideration." Then it will takes 6 mths to one year for the application-waiting-time.

Don't worry abt the citizenship yet, There's few discussion here could be maybe they do not wish to give up their china passport yet, or other reasons.

hi can i ask whats the difference between single journey visa and multiple?? During the duration of the single journey visa, can she go back china and enter singapore again? or cannot even exit singapore, exit means must apply another entry visa?

For social visa, normally called the single-trip journey visa, once she return back to china, requires to re-apply for another new set of entry visa again in order for entrance.

Those who have the Long Term Social Visit Visas of at least 3 mths, accompanied with the green card, are allowed to make multiple trips out of singapore and return back without problems.

I'm not lau jiao..just trying to help out here.

With green card, you will still need to apply for Visa to enter Malaysia. Remember she is still holding on to a foreign passport. Juz go to any travel agency and pay about 20 - 30 dollars for a mutiple entry visa that expires together with her green card..

may i know wad if my gf who is back in china nw is holding on to a 2 yr visa which mean she can come over to sg anytime but they will give her oni 14days than she have to exit to neighbor country than come back again.. is ther anyway to let her stay in sg as long as possible without goin over other country than back again? cos we r planning to get marry but my mum wld like her to stay here for a few mths to monitor and see wad kind of gal she is..

after lurking in this section of this topics for so long.

would like to enquire, my prc gf told me she got a 2 year visa, normally would ICA granted them so long meh, she was hinting to me wanna get attached but i also worry too.

i am just a salaried worker annual income about 40K, degree holder. as for her she is just a secondary level or similar, she is not working at the moment.

hows the chance of getting a LTSVP? thks
