Re: Chinese RMB rates..

went to the money changer today again ..
rate is 4.52 ....

the money changer show me a counterfeit rmb note ...
the print looks good but the feel of the note can tell it's a fake ...
and it's start with SA xxxxxxxx

i did some search in the web and i think this is useful to share with all bros here ...

How to Detect Fake Chinese Money
Counterfeit money in China is a problem. Fake money for one Yuan coins to 100 Yuan bills were found in circulation in China. Many Chinese people even have a problem in detecting fake money. Foreigners are easier victims.

The most effective way to detect a fake Chinese money is the watermark. Hold the bill up against light, a watermark of Chairman Mao is shown. The watermark on a real 100 Yuan banknote is distinct while the watermark on a fake one is rather obscure. Look at watermarks in the follow pictures and compare.

Watermark on a real 100 Yuan banknote

Watermark on a fake 100 Yuan bill

The second way to detect a fake Chinese banknote is to scratch the hair of Chairman Mao. You can feel the hair on a real banknote. But on a fake banknote, the hair can not be felt

PS: I'm in ZH shaking leg now. Maybe later go into Macau play "Tiger Machine".
Yeo Bro Tony, is Zhuhai cheaper and more fun than SZ?

Re: Chinese RMB rates..

To all bros going to china .... pls take note:

DO NOT USE 100rmb for cab fare ... use small notes

i was swindle this morning when taking a cab to a restaurant for breakfast ..

the cab driver switch my notes right in front of me and i didn't know at all ..

now i end up with 2 useless 100rmb notes ....

Re: Chinese RMB rates..

I use a small trick to counter this swopping thing.

Marked your 100rmb with a pencil with example your initial or anything tat is simple. When the cabby or retail shop try to swop you can check it on the spot and demand your actual note back.

One more thing, do not pass them your note 1st. Make known tat your are paying by 100rmb and ask them if they have enough small change or not.

Re: Chinese RMB rates..

Cab drivers are well known for pulling a fast one.
It's simple to prevent this.
Before paying, READ out the serial number on the notes, in his view before paying. Trust me, he'll think twice.
Don't, and I mean DON'T just memorize the number or write it down somewhere and hope the driver won't pull it off.
He'll deny it's yours and it's his word against yours.

Btw just changed at PPC this afternoon @ 4.575.
